Giants' Heliot Ramos suffers mind-boggling baserunning mistake in loss to Pirates: 'Mental error'
San Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos committed a bizarre baserunning blunder in the team's 3-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night. Matt Chapman was at the plate with Ramos on second base and Wlily Adames on first base in the bottom of the first inning. Pirates pitcher Bailey Falter got Chapman to pop up in front of the mound. The home plate umpire called an infield fly rule, which is used to prevent the defensive team from intentionally dropping a pop-up in hopes of turning a double play. Naturally, Ramos and Adames would have stayed on base, and the next batter would be up. Instead, Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes let the ball drop in front of him, and it caught Ramos a bit off guard. Ramos was caught trailing too much off of second and Hayes threw the ball to second baseman Nick Gonzalez to achieve the quick-thinking double play. Ramos called it a "mental error" after the game, according to NBC Sports Bay Area. "Trying to do too much, overthinking. I messed up. That's the only thing I can say about it. It's been happening a lot. I'm just trying to get better, do better every day, every time. Trying to work on it, even on my defense. It hasn't been the best," Ramos said. "I don't want to mess it up. I don't know what to do. All I'm doing is working every day, trying to fix everything." It was that kind of game for the Giants as they were only able to get two hits the entire game. Falter allowed two hits and only one run. The Pirates' bullpen did its job to shut down the Giants' offense and win the game. Pirates shortstop Liover Peguero and catcher Joey Bart contributed the RBI in the win.

Mr. Met's stage presence needs work after Lumineers concert blunder
Mr. Met did not have a great Friday night while joining The Lumineers onstage for the band's concert at Citi Field. While trying to join in with the band on tambourine, Mr. Met whiffed catching said tambourine and then promptly fell off the stage while playing said tambourine before climbing back on the stage to try again. This was just a nightmare sequence for Mr. Met, as nobody wants to embarrass themselves in front of thousands of people. We appreciate the mascot's willingness to hop right back on the stage to give it another go, but this clip is going to follow Mr. Met around for the rest of the MLB season. A CHESS grandmaster has gone viral after losing his cool and slamming the table in disgust following a shock defeat. Magnus Carlsen fumed after losing to chess world champion Gukesh Dommaraju. 4 4 4 After conceding defeat the world No1 slammed his fist on the table, sending pieces flying. He then showed the presence of mind to offer a handshake to his opponent, before getting up to his feet, seemingly about to storm off. Instead Carlsen picked up some of the fallen pieces and then patted a stunned Gukesh on the back. Gukesh, 19, is the youngest chess world champion ever, and this was his first victory over Carlsen, the chess GOAT. Carlsen is a five-time world champion and semi-retired in 2022, so this was just the second meeting between the pair. The first came in the same tournament in Norway last week, with Carlsen winning comfortably. After that victory, the Norwegian tweeted: "If you come for the king, you best not miss." Carlsen was also on top in the second clash, but a rare blunder allowed Gukesh to take advantage with a counter-attack that led Carlsen to resign. This Morning's Dermot O'Leary leaves ITV show's chef red-faced after spotting major Eurovision blunder
THIS Morning host Dermot O'Leary left the show's resident chef cringing after calling her out on a massive Eurovision blunder. Dermot, 51, pointed out Clodagh McKenna 's faux pas as she got ready to whip up a plate of themed 'nibbles' for this weekend's contest. 6 6 6 Clodagh, 49, lifted up her plate and showed off a selection of traditional small bites from various Eurovision competing nations. But as she pointed to one of her savoury Danish pastries, Dermot asked: "Why has it got a Spanish flag on?" Clodagh insisted the pastries were sporting a Danish flag, telling him: "It isn't, it's Danish." Dermot replied: "I'm pretty sure that's the Spanish flag." Clodagh picked up one of her pastries that was decorated with a little red and white flag to give it a closer look. Looking embarrassed, she laughed: "I wasn't in charge of the flags!" Dermot was in fact correct. Clodagh's Danish pastries were decorated with mini yellow and red Spanish flags. The Danish flag is red with a white cross on. Dermot apologised to his This Morning co-star for embarrassing her over the blunder live on television. "Sorry... I just wanted to..." he said.
