This blush will give you the perfect no-make-up flush

• This article contains affiliate links that will earn us revenue I was going to write about Violette FR's most recent launch, which is a really stupendous, unsticky clear lip balm/treatment called Balm Amour (£27) — six years in the making, apparently — that's full of peptides and phyto-collagen. And it's great. If you're a lip balm fan, I can't think of a better one. You'll just have to take my word for it, though, because on the way to this lip balm I got distracted by the blush the brand does called Bisou Blush (£37, I feel like I've written more about blushes in the past three months than I have in the past three years, but that's the way these things work: I rarely meet any I like and then suddenly a whole load come along at once.

Armani Beauty's New Cheek Tint And Skin Tent Reflect The Brand's Belief 'That Makeup Shouldn't Be Intimidating'

One of the hottest products of the summer? Blush—and Armani Beauty has joined the conversation with its new Luminous Silk Cheek Tint Shine, a companion piece to the brand's Skin Tint. The liquid blush comes in four shades: Sunlit Sienna (described by the company as a 'burnished pink'); Starlit Peach; Cosmic Pink (a 'cool-toned' pink); and Magnetic Mauve (a 'deep purple pink'). The brand described the product in a release as being formulated to create 'a pearlescent finish that appears to move with light, enhancing the skin's luminosity,' made with technology that allows 'the formula to seamlessly blend into the skin without looking patchy.' I had the opportunity to chat about both the Cheek Tint and the Skin Tint with a person who has possibly the best job title ever—Samuel Rivera, Armani Beauty's National Face Designer. I'm especially intrigued by the company's skincare meets makeup approach, an ever-growing trend in beauty; he tells me that 'We designed our products to enhance the skin and keep it hydrated and healthy. We believe that the skin is a precious canvas that deserves the best quality and innovation.' Whereas the blush has four shades, the Skin Tint has 20. The Skin Tint was inspired by organza, 'a delicate and sheer fabric known for its lightweight structure and subtle sheen,' Rivera tells me, and its ingredients—think niacinamide, vitamin C and hyaluronic acid—'will give the skin the most beautiful and glowy finish,' Rivera adds. 'I am in love with this new product,' he says. Armani Beauty's ability to fuse skincare and makeup 'really sets us apart from other brands in the industry,' Rivera says. 'We put together skincare ingredients that are key and beneficial to the skin, combined with our exclusive pearls that allowed us to develop a product for all skin types and a wide variety of tonalities.' Pearls, you say? Perhaps like you, I'm especially intrigued by the fact that the product is made with pearls, which Rivera explains to me diffuse light reflection and add luminosity to the skin, creating 'a beautiful glow,' as he puts it. The skincare-makeup hybrid model—as seen in the Skin Tint—continues to grow in popularity, where the combination of the two 'essentially fuse two products in one,' according to Vogue. 'Ultimately, skincare is meant to provide a positive, measurable change in your skin over time—so a skincare-makeup hybrid should do both of those simultaneously.' Brands like Westman Atelier, Kosas, Rhode, Glow Recipe and Danessa Myricks Beauty have also jumped on the trend along with Armani Beauty. 'Today's beauty consumers are incredibly intentional—they're looking for formulas that enhance their natural features while actively improving their skin,' Cocokind founder Priscilla Tsai told Who What Wear. 'The days of choosing between a beautiful finish and real skincare benefits are over—people want both. That's why hybrid formulas are thriving.' When it comes to application, the Armani Beauty Skin Tint is lightweight, so it's 'easy to play with,' Rivera tells me. He recommends applying the product with your fingers—one to two pumps of Skin Tint starting from the center of the face outward. To build coverage, he says to apply in even layers with a flat foundation brush in the areas that you want more complete coverage. After applying the Skin Tint all over your face with your fingers, he suggests applying the Cheek Tint 'on the apple of the cheeks for a pop of color and dewiness.' (It can be applied with a brush or with fingertips, he says.) Rivera also uses the Cheek Tint 'on the lips,' he tells me, putting 'a lip gloss on top.' These two products 'are the perfect combination to create an easy, quick and glowy makeup look,' Rivera says. 'We believe that makeup shouldn't be intimidating—makeup should be easy to apply with just a few steps,' he tells me. The Cheek Tint is currently available at and the Skin Tint is also available on Sephora and Armani Beauty's websites, and will be available at all retailers on August 18—in just 10 days' time.

Tower 28 Beauty Partners With ‘CEO Of Blush' Toni Bravo For Its Landmark First Creator Collaboration: ‘It Felt Like A Perfect Match'

For the first time ever, Tower 28 Beauty is taking part in a creator collaboration, partnering with fellow Angeleno and content creator Toni Bravo to release two limited edition blush shades. Bravo—known as the 'CEO of Blush'—is from Long Beach; Tower 28, named after a lifeguard tower in Santa Monica and founded by Amy Liu, is proud of its Los Angeles roots. 'It came about really organically,' Liu—who is not just founder but also CEO of the company—tells me of the partnership with Bravo. 'Toni's been such a champion of the brand, and she had this real story of not being able to find certain shades, even with her massive blush collection. She already loved our formula and had such a thoughtful eye for what was missing in the market.' 'On top of that, she has a deep, authentic connection with her community, and that's something we really value,' Liu continues. 'She's all about bold pigment, inclusivity and joy—so it felt like a perfect match.' The product, called the GetSet™ Matte Powder Blush, launched on July 22 at and and retails for $22. The two shades are Downtown Daiquiri, a bright coral blush, and Sunset Shirley, a warm raspberry, and it makes sense that Bravo, a beauty and lifestyle creator based in L.A., was the perfect fit: she rose to internet fame with a viral blush video that cemented her as a prominent voice for people of color in the beauty industry, as previously reported on by Forbes; she has amassed more than 850,000 followers across various platforms. 'It's been a year and a half of learning, discovery and, honestly, so much fun,' Bravo tells me of her collaboration with the brand. 'Tower 28 reached out to my management team to propose the idea, and when I got the call—I couldn't say yes quick enough.' The collaboration started with mood boards, she adds, 'and really spent time to speak to the why behind the shades,' she says, adding that creating 'a whole world' for both Downtown Daiquiri (inspired by Bravo's time living in downtown L.A.) and Sunset Shirley (inspired by both Sunset Boulevard and her love for a Shirley Temple) was her favorite part of the process. From there, they moved into samples and testing, 'really honing into creating two dream shades,' she says, 'not just for myself, but for everyone.' 'The launch and support have truly felt immeasurable,' Bravo says. 'I am so excited that folks love these two shades as much as I do.' As Liu puts it, when it comes to being the 'CEO of Blush,' Bravo 'earned that title,' Liu tells me. 'Toni is a true blush connoisseur and knows exactly what she's looking for. She's not just collecting blush for the aesthetic—she really understands the craft behind it and is incredibly intentional about how color wears on different skintones. That passion and precision is exactly what makes her the CEO in our book.' Bravo has a collection of over 100 blushes, but couldn't find the exact shade she was looking for—so enter Tower 28, a brand Bravo tells me 'was one of the very first brands I adored when I began my makeup journey again as an adult.' 'They have always felt beginner-friendly and approachable,' she says. The blushes promise not just vibrant color but also the ability to blur and smooth any texture, with built-in shine control and sweat-proof capabilities. It's the first-ever setting blush, Liu explains, 'which means you get the pigment of a matte powder blush with the staying power of a setting powder.' (Liu is also quick to point out to me that the blush is safe for sensitive skin—a pillar Tower 28 was founded on. 'Powder blushes tend to accentuate imperfections, but ours blurs them,' she says.) Bravo tells me that, before this product, she'd never tried a self-setting blush before, 'and now I can't go back,' she says. 'Blush is having such a big moment right now,' Liu says. 'I love how people are really leaning into color and having fun with how they wear it.' Liu says the brand had been fans of Bravo's 'forever,' and she did a blush masterclass with the company earlier this year when it launched the first seven shades. Bravo tells me their collaboration—which is also her first with a beauty brand, as well as being Tower 28's first with a content creator—felt 'incredibly serendipitous,' she says, adding that the collaboration 'just made sense.' 'I love how full circle it has all felt,' she says. 'To have billboards with my face on it all over Los Angeles—and even in my hometown of Long Beach—has been a dream and a half.' Will Tower 28 do more collaborations like this in the future? It's a distinct possibility, Liu tells me. 'We're always exploring ways to connect with our community and bring fresh perspectives to the table,' she says. 'This collaboration opened up a whole new chapter for us, and it was such a rewarding experience. For now, we're just so excited to get these new shades into people's hands, but we're definitely keeping the door open for more thoughtful, meaningful collabs in the future.'

This blush-bronzer is the perfect summer beauty product

• This article contains affiliate links that can earn us revenue I am very pleased with today's column because I think I have found the perfect summer product. It is a blush-bronzer hybrid, It Cosmetics Glow with Confidence Sun Blush (£33, and it is so good — the best thing I've come across in years when it comes to making you look healthy, natural and sunkissed. It's a cream and it comes in five shades. The one that I am raving about specifically is called Sun Warmth. I am reasonably confident that it is almost a universal shade, though you might need an extremely light hand if you are the colour of photocopying paper. (Do people still photocopy things or just scan them with their phones? I am old enough to remember when people photocopied their bottoms at drunken office parties. Good times.) On the other hand, IT Cosmetics knows what it's doing and so presumably the shades it deems best for fairer or darker skin work just as well. But Sun Warmth! Sun Warmth is literally perfection. It's a sort of brickish terracotta shade, and on the skin it is exactly — exactly — the colour skin goes just before it burns: that optimal shade that looks amazing for one night only, before it goes red and peels. Do you know what I mean? It's a colour that looks like your skin has absorbed all the heat and sunlight of the day, and that makes everybody much better looking than they actually are, because it evokes fresh air and light and carefreeness and joy. Also, lack of effort. This is a product that looks like the results just happened without any input by you. Products that do this are my favourites and they're also few and far between. In this instance, genius colour aside, the texture has a lot to do with it. It presents as solid in the pot, but it melts on to the skin like a sort of balm — I think we could technically call it a balm, except that 'balm' suggests something that will slide off and this won't. Anyway: its balminess means that you could apply it with your eyes closed and it would still look great. Don't, obviously — apply it with your eyes open a) on your cheekbones and/ or cheeks (higher is better if you're older, because otherwise the colour is too low down when your face is in repose), b) on your temples, c) wherever the sun would naturally hit, including maybe the tip of your nose. The brickish colour of this means that I like applying it in a sort of blurred-out stripe across the centre of my face, from cheekbone to cheekbone and across the nose. With a light hand! Honestly, it is so flattering that I almost laughed out loud in delight. I would suggest using quite a stiff brush rather than anything superfluffy, in a dabbing/stippling motion — but do whatever works best for you. It contains skincare too. To be honest I wouldn't care if it contained weasel pee and chopped up worms, so pleasing is its effect on the skin, but skincare is a nice thing obviously. Skincare is the cherry on the cake. Here we have hyaluronic acid for hydration, vitamin E to feed the skin and our trusty friends peptides, who do everything helpful. What a product! I could not love it more. The pot is huge, by the way, and will last you for ever. PS If you're looking for something to wear underneath, the same brand's CC+ Nude Glow (£38, which I have written about before, is very good. Cook For the Love of Lemons by Letitia Clark (Hardie Grant £28) is a single-theme — lemons! — cookbook that is summer between hard covers. The recipes are Italian or Italianish and lend themselves particularly well to lunch outside under a parasol. The Sunday Times Style Beauty awards are back for 2025.
