I'm turning my 1960s house into a home – a £15 Amazon buy made a big difference, added privacy & only took five minutes

A DIY enthusiast is currently on a mission to turn her '1960s house a home.' As part of Grace Dem's latest DIY project, she has added style to her pad for just £15. 2 2 Posting on social media, the content creator gave her followers a close-up look at her recent transformation, leaving many open-mouthed. What was once a plain glass window, has since been given a glow up thanks to a purse-friendly buy from Amazon. And not only does it add style, but it also provides privacy too. But if you thought that was it, think again, as this simple trick only takes a matter of minutes. Sharing a short clip online, the savvy woman posted a before and after look at a small window at the top of her bathroom. Using a Stained Glass Window Privacy Film, which Grace bought from Amazon for £15 at the time, she was able to turn the once dull window from drab to fab. With this bargain buy, all you need to do is measure, cut, wet and apply. It's said to be 'hassle-free', with 'no residue.' According to the listing, this privacy film, which works best on glass windows, is 'made to endure with premium, resilient materials that resist wear.' As well as being super vibrant with eye-catching patterns, it's sure to beautify your windows and leave your guests open-mouthed. I was fed up of my council bathroom looking like a s--thole so transformed it with stick on tiles & an £80 shower screen Alongside the clip, Grace penned: 'Did someone say dream window for under £15?' Showing off the finished result, the influencer beamed: "Dreamiest transformation and literally took five minutes to do.' Clearly overjoyed with the budget but effective privacy film, which requires no glue and is removable, Grace then added: 'Obsessed obsessed obsessed!' Thanks to this budget product, which you can buy from Amazon in a variety of different styles, you'll not only add a unique touch to your space, but it can also be used to block the sun and for anti-glare purposes too. As well as being used on indoor surfaces, it can also be added to outside spaces too. DIY fans beam Not only do we think that Grace's window transformation looks impressive, but it's clear that many others do too, as her TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ maisonbyem, has quickly racked up 182,500 views. Not only this, but it's also amassed 11,800 likes, 46 comments and 1,889 saves. DIY fans were stunned by the huge difference the adhesive-free film made and users eagerly flocked to the comments to express this. One person said: 'Makes such a difference!' Another added: 'You've outdone yourself with this one.' A third commented: 'This is class! Looks so good.' Meanwhile, someone else asked: 'Is it sideways?' To this, Grace responded and wrote: 'Yes I suppose so! I think it could go either way tbh.' But not everyone was as complimentary, as one user snapped: ' Tacky.' However, clearly unbothered by the rude remark, the content creator wrote back and alongside a laughing face emoji, joked: 'Thanks babes.'

People say council houses can't look nice but my hallway proves them wrong – EVERYTHING is from B&Q & it ‘gives luxury'

A SAVVY mum who lives in a council house has shared how she gave her plain hallway a stunning glow up whilst on a budget. So if you're desperate to add style to your home but don't know where to start, you've come to the right place and won't want to miss this. 5 5 5 Crystal Jewell, a 32-year-old mum-of-two from the UK, was eager to prove that ' council houses can be nice too,' and on her mission to do so, was able to transform her hallway and turn it from drab to fab in barely any time at all. The savvy DIY enthusiast nabbed cheap buys from B&Q for the makeover and took to social media to give her followers a before, during and after look at the overhaul, leaving many totally stunned. Alongside a short clip shared online, the brunette beauty beamed: 'Panel my hallway with me!' Crystal then said: 'Who said council houses can't be nice too? Let's panel my hallway.' Showing off her home prior to the transformation, she added: 'So this was what it was looking like when I first moved in - not the worst, but not the best. 'I really wanted my entrance way to be warm, cosy and homely. 'I got everything I needed for this project from B&Q - I'm pretty sure they get sick of the sight of me in that store.' To stick the panels to the wall, Crystal used a grab adhesive which cost her just £2.50. She then used a few nails to keep it secure while the glue was drying. Prior to painting, Crystal shared: 'I'm in love already.' And despite "absolutely hating painting,' the DIY fan got stuck in and used the 'cheapest tub of white paint from the Good Home range,' which cost her just £19. Moments later, Crystal, who previously shared how she made her dream dressing table for just £21, showed off the finished hallway, as she beamed: 'I am absolutely in love. These include: installing a new bathroom or kitchen building an extension putting up a garden shed or greenhouse installing a new gas fire or fireplace cavity wall insulation redecorating the outside of a house fitting an aerial or satellite dish You might need your council's written permission for work you do. Contact your council if you're not sure. 'Now if this isn't giving you cosy, warm, homely vibes, then I don't know what is.' Savvy mum shows off Minecraft bedroom & blows everyone away – as £8 of paint looks as good as £247 pro wallpaper

A SAVVY mum saved herself hundreds of pounds after creating a bespoke Minecraft bedroom for her son. Elizabeth Doherty wanted to give her son's bedroom a revamp while keeping the costs down. 2 2 The mum's son is obsessed with Minecraft and she wanted to give him a bedroom he'd love. But instead of splashing out on a wall mural, like the Wallart one above that costs £247, she decided to give it a go herself. Using some leftover paint she had at home and a pencil she created a Minecraft masterpiece and shared it on social media. "My wee boy wanted a Minecraft room and I couldn't find <inecraft wallpaper so I tried to paint a wall," she wrote. She first painted half of the wall blue to represent the sky, adding some white squares to look like the clouds in Minecraft. Once done, she stencilled the Minecraft logo on to the middle of the wall and used grey and black paint to create a shadow effect. For the bottom of the wall, she used a mix of green and brown paints to recreate the cubes of earth and grass found in the game. But instead of forking out for ten different paints, she decided to use tester pots to save cash. She added: "For anyone wanting to have a go themselves, I used Johnstone paint tester pots from B&M for the bottom as it was cheaper than buying whole tins. "And I used old paint I already had for the top (it is DIY on a budget after all)." I asked ChatGPT how to transform my bedroom in a single step - all I needed was a Homebase buy & now it's like paradise For a final finishing touch she bought her son some Minecraft bedding. The clip has since gone viral after it was shared on the Facebook group DIY on a Budget. People were quick to praise the mum for her DIY skills.
