Chilling new details about final days of ‘American Idol' boss and her husband shot dead in their $4.5m mansion
A CLOSE family friend has revealed disturbing details about the shooting deaths of American Idol executive Robin Kaye and her husband. Kaye and Thomas Deluca, both 70, were found dead inside their $4.5 million Los Angeles, California, mansion on Monday afternoon. 4 4 4 They both had shooting wounds to the head, and suspect Raymond Boodarian, 22, has been arrested and accused of killing them. Cops said the accused murderer was inside their home for 30 minutes before the couple walked in and accidentally confronted him. The horrific break-in came after the successful couple had a burglar bust into their home on May 19. Ever since that incident, they had been desperately trying to crack down on security. They reportedly spoke to a bodyguard service and security consultant to try and get peace of mind after their home in Encino was targeted. One friend, who didn't give his name, said the couple "added spikes" to the top of the six-foot fence protecting their property, he told Fox News. "They had spikes on the other side of the fence, and obviously updated their video surveillance as well," he said. "They had video surveillance already." Kaye, who headed up the music department for American Idol, and Deluca, who was a successful songwriter, were remembered as friendly people who had no enemies, according to the friend. They had "moved to Encino because they wanted to be safe," he said. "They were living life to the fullest. They traveled a lot. They have some great animals," the friend explained. "They have a turtle that they found at their first house they bought when they moved to LA, and they've taken their turtle with them every place." The friend said the couple felt confident that the intruder wouldn't "be back" after imposing the new measures. 'VERY SHAKEN' Guy Cohen, a security consultant who works with SecureIT Homes, said that he worked with Kaye and Deluca after the break-in. He said a burglar had shattered the home's glass back door and was confronted by Kaye, who screamed when she saw the intruder. The intruder ran away after the music executive saw him, Cohen told Fox News. "Obviously they're very shaken and they were looking for solution," he said. "They came to us and we were there to consult them [...] help them through the situation." SecureIT was planning on installing shatter-resistant window film, an early detection system around their home, and a custom-built panic room in Kaye's closet this month, Cohen said. "Unfortunately, we couldn't get there in time and they still have their original systems in place," he said. The couple's close friend has remembered them as "very talented" and said that Kaye "excelled in her job." "They're just really wonderful people," he said.

Numerous personal items and jewelry were stolen. No one was at home when the burglary occured. Police said the home is 'reportedly' owned by Marte. Maricopa County Assessor's Office records show Marte owns a home on the block near the investigation. Police say the investigation is ongoing. Marte hit a two-run double in the first inning of the NL's win, which was secured after a home run contest at the end of the game after the score was tied after nine innings. The burglary is the latest in a series of thefts from the homes of high-profile athletes across the country this year. Players have been targeted because of the high-end products believed to be in their homes and sometimes the thefts occur when they are away with their teams for road games. The FBI has warned sports leagues about crime organizations targeting professional athletes. The NFL and NBA have issued security alerts to athletes. Last week, the California home of WWE superstar couple Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch was burglarized as they were part of a live show in Providence, RI. A Seattle man was charged last month in connection with a string of burglaries at the homes of prominent active and retired professional athletes in the area.

MLB all-star latest athlete latest to fall victim to Burglary
Arizona Diamondbacks All-Star Ketel Marte (pictured) is the latest sports star to have his home burglarized while he was out of town. Scottsdale, Arizona police have confirmed to Daily Mail they are investigating a 'high-dollar residential burglary' believed to have taken place Tuesday night, when Marte was representing the National League in the All-Star game in Atlanta. Nobody was home at the time of the burglary, but a number of personal items and jewelry were stolen. Police did find signs of forced entry, a department spokesperson told Daily Mail. The luxury home outside of Phoenix has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, as well as a two-car garage, according to Zillow, which reports it was sold for $3.6 million in April. Online records corroborate Marte's purchase of the home at that time. The burglary is just the latest theft of a high-profile athlete's home after NFL superstars Joe Burrow, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes were all targeted when they were known to be away from their respective residences. The FBI previously warned leagues about organized criminals targeting pro athletes. One Seattle man has been charged in connection with a string of burglaries at the homes of current and retired pro athletes in Washington state. The alleged burglary ring is accused of hitting the residences of current Seattle Mariners stars Julio Rodriguez and Luis Castillo, club legend Edgar Martinez, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher and Washington native Black Snell, as well as Seahawks great Richard Sherman. Meanwhile a group of Chilean nationals have been arrested on suspicion of robbing Burrow's home in rural Ohio. Three of the men are facing federal charges for allegedly transporting stolen goods and falsifying record in a federal investigation. Those three are suspected by investigators of orchestrating similar burglaries at the homes Kelce and Mahomes. Marte, a Dominican native who has earned $62 million over eight MLB seasons, hit a two-run double in Tuesday's All-Star game, which was ultimately won by the National League. He recently made headlines for a game in Chicago, where a White Sox fan was accused of lobbing insults at Marte that referenced the second baseman's late mother. Marte was seen crying on the field as teammates and coaches attempted to console him.
