A Melbourne man has frightened off a pair of would-be car thieves by barking like a dog, after they attempted make off with his Audi coupé. CCTV footage from the property in affluent Brighton shows the carjackers approaching the vehicle. However, the sound of the car's engine alerted the owner. The man could be seen running from his property, barking at the thieves. One of them leapt out of the passenger seat and onto the roof of the car. He then made for the property's front gate and climbed over it. The other bolted from the driver seat and also headed for the fence while the home-owner continued to raise a ruckus. 'I will kill you, I will f***ing kill you,' he could be heard yelling. He then began barking again. His car appeared to begin rolling down the driveway as the would-be thieves ran away. Victorian opposition leader Brad Battin weighed in on the footage, telling Seven News 'if it works it works'. 'This guy has obviously got the genuine fear and tried to find any way to get them out of the house without having any confrontation,' he said.
