Lottery ticket sold in Newman matches all but Powerball number, still wins more than $1 million

A ticket nearly netted a lucky Powerball player in Stanislaus County the jackpot, but they'll still walk away with some cash. California Lottery officials say two tickets matching five numbers were sold in California for Wednesday's drawing, one in Orange and one in Newman. The tickets got the first five numbers – 23, 27, 32, 35, 59 – right, but missed the Powerball number of 11. Despite missing out on the $189 million jackpot of the night, lottery officials say five-match tickets are still worth $1,326,260 each. The ticket sold in Newman was at the Arco Station at 1147 N. Street. That store will get a $6,600 bonus for selling the ticket. Powerball drawings happen ever Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

The 1% Club's tricky age question wipes out 14 players - but can YOU solve it within 30 seconds?

A tricky brain teaser on The 1% Club wiped out 14 players - but can you solve it within 30 seconds? Hosted by Lee Mack, the ITV show welcomes 100 contestants who all attempt to win a huge cash prize. The programme's questions were put to the public, with the percentage who got it right determining the difficulty of each round. Aptly, the final quiz is one that just 1 per cent of the public answered correctly. During a previous episode, the 60% question proved to be tricky for many contestants. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Hosted by Lee Mack (pictured), the ITV show welcomes 100 contestants who all attempt to win a huge cash prize Lee asked: 'Richard is older than Clare. Jojo is older than Hennie. Hennie is older than Richard. Who is the oldest?' The options included, Richard, Clare, Jojo or Hennie. When the 30 second counter ticked down, it was revealed that a whopping 14 players were wiped out of the competition and had answered incorrectly. The right answer was revealed to be Jojo. However, it isn't the only tricky question to appear on the show. In another episode, all of the finalists were wiped out due to a ridiculously difficult question. There were five players remaining at the time, all hopeful that they could be in with a share of the money. Lee hit them with the following question: 'What new word links the capitalised words below?' He then read this sentence: 'My SON TED ate raw FOOD and got SICK, then went to BED with me by his SIDE.' As is the case with every question on the show, the players had just 30 seconds to try and work it out. Lee then asked the players their answers and it was soon clear that no consensus had been reached, with all five of them reaching different conclusions. One player was actually left so stumped by the question that they couldn't even attempt to answer it. Other possible answers suggested included 'new' and 'well'. Lee then explained that the right answer was 'sea'. The 1% Club airs on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
