I'm a proud catfish – it gets me free drinks & men love me with my slap on – it's not my fault their wives don't like it

A SELF-PROCLAIMED 'catfish' says she uses the glow-up technique to get free drinks at bars. Patricia Lichtenberger, a make-up artist and content creator with over 4,300 followers, says she is treated better when she changes her appearance. 8 8 8 The 50-year-old ' master catfish ' has gone viral in the past for her insane transformations which make her look decades younger. And fame has had its upsides. 'When I actually go out in public like supermarkets, I get stared at a lot,' Patricia told What's The Jam. 'And I know people want to come up and say something. 'I've had a few that do say 'hello' and ask questions, even though I don't know them. 'And I have had a few instances where people let me cut in line. 'Another time I was paying at the cash register and a man was staring at me hardcore. 'I saw in my peripheral vision, of course. 'Men have stared at me up and down without saying anything, it is all normal to me. 'Sometimes it's funny because they don't know who I am underneath.' Danni Menzies opens up about catfish hell that haunts her social media and how they're cashing in on pretending to be her. Patricia has even used 'catfishing' on nights out. She said: 'At bars, it's a different story, I get women who say they love my makeup or say something about my eyeshadow or how pretty it is. 'Since I've grown my natural hair out, I receive so many compliments since then while wearing makeup. 'They think I've coloured my hair grey since it's a trend going around. 'Men make facial expressions as I'm walking around as if I'm getting gawked at. 'I've had one say 'you know you're beautiful, right?' 8 8 8 'And I always say, 'oh yes I know I am.'' But Patricia says she is not responsible for the gawking men. Patricia, from Cuba and Kansas, US, added: 'Hey, if there wives are around, they don't like their husbands looking at me. 'It's not my fault I'm beautiful inside and out! 'It's not just my make-up, it's my positivity and empowerment, and people say I have a bubbly personality. Why do people catfish others on dating apps? Speaking to Techopedia, professional dating coach Jacob Lucas reveals how to see if someone is a catfish on dating apps. A lot of people are insecure about themselves. They may not be very confident about dating or making friends, or about the way they look, so they create this fake persona. When they get attention and receive compliments, they then feel validated. Very often, catfishes are in that person's life already, so they already know them. Sometimes, it can be started off as a joke and then it spirals out of control. People can become addicted to it and it becomes a habit. The third reason is that as weird as it sounds, they think they're doing the right thing. If it's a friend who has a lot of bad luck in their love life, they want to give them confidence. But they often get stuck in the habit and can't stop doing it. And finally, its could be that the person is trying to extort money from the other person. They may ask for a small amount of money to pay for their electricity bill for example to start off with, but if they do, it can spiral into a large amount of money. They use romance to get people to send them money. 'I love to spice up my life and become who I want, if I am not hurting anybody or causing a ruckus, let me be me.' Patricia has gathered over five million views across her social media videos. 8 8

Danni Menzies opens up about catfish hell that haunts her social media & how they're cashing in on men looking for dates

TELLY and vodcast host Danni Menzies has opened up about a catfish nightmare that has plagued her social media accounts. The 36-year-old revealed that she has repeatedly been in the position of having to defend herself after discovering that people are cashing in and pretending to be her online. 4 4 4 . In the latest episode of Fabulous ' vodcast, Danni and co-host Alex Serruys discussed the issue. Speaking to Alex, Danni explained someone had been impersonating her on Telegram, forcing her to report the account. 'I had loads of messages from different people. I had one the other day. In fact, when I put a question out about people being catfished,' she explained. 'And somebody said [to me] 'yes, by you.' 'So someone had been pretending to be me, and I don't know how they are monetising it, but they are, and it's not the first time. 'In the last six months, I've probably had about 30 or 40 messages, and I have to go onto Instagram and Facebook [and take a look]. 'I probably do it once every few weeks, but there will be about eight new profiles pretending to be me. 'And I get guys sliding into my DMs being like, 'why are you ignoring me all of a sudden?' and I'm like, 'what?' 'And someone is literally using my profile and using pictures of me, pretending to be me, and full-on having conversations with people. "I don't really know what they are talking about.' Meaty hands are a good sign Alex responded: 'It's really sad that people who also find you attractive, you are their dream girl, think that you are actually giving them the time of day. 'And you're not. I just think that is really sad. And it's horrible that someone is making money off that.' Danni went on to explain how people can tell whether they are really speaking to her or not. She said: 'It's sad, it's horrible that someone is making money off that, but also, if anyone is listening, I only message my friends. It is sad, but come on, it is a bit painful for them. But it's also a bit embarrassing for me Danni Menzies 'It's just like, really? Because you know, in the nicest possible way, the guys are always in the probably 50 to 70 age bracket, probably just definitely not what I would go for, to put it that way. 'Come on, do you really think I am sitting at home on my computer all day hitting you up babe, no. 'It is sad, but come on, it is a bit painful for them. But it's also a bit embarrassing for me. 4 'I feel bad about it, but I also feel a bit grossed out about it because I'm like, what are you actually speaking about?' Alex added: 'If they have got your face, and somebody is messaging 'you,' it's like, OK, can I have a video of you doing something to yourself? Someone could make that.' And this is what puts Danni in fear. 'That's the scary thing, because they can make the video from an image,' she explained. 'And that could literally be any image from your Instagram, and they can create a video of you sha**ing from that.' Who is Danni and why did she leave A Place In The Sun? Danni presented on Channel 4's A Place In The Sun for nearly six years and left in 2022 to explore other opportunities closer to home. She explained that "travelling as much as I did, I found it hard to establish relationships". "Also, six years in the same job, travelling loads, it was such an amazing experience, went to lots of great places, met lots of great people," she added. "I was very much in my comfort zone and now I'm very much out of my comfort zone and it makes you feel a little bit more alive to be honest."
