Dundee SAPS issues warning about online scams and criminals impersonating police officers
Dundee SAPS are urging residents to be alert following a spike in fraud cases involving online purchases. Community members are advised to verify sellers thoroughly before making payments for goods advertised online. In a separate warning, the police have also cautioned the public about individuals posing as police officers around Dundee shopping centres. These suspects impersonate detectives to scam unsuspecting victims. 'Residents are reminded that real police officers must produce an official appointment certificate when asked. If in doubt, verify their identity by contacting your nearest police station,' said SAPS spokesperson Constable Siyabonga Nkwanyana. Report suspicious activity to Dundee SAPS on 034 299 9700/86 or call 10111. Let's stay alert and united against crime.
