Level Up Your Summer Style With a Scarf Skirt
As soon as I feel the first rays of sun hit my pasty skin after a long, blustery winter, I'm immediately struck by a primal urge to get rid of all of my clothes and start my closet afresh. It goes without saying that this is not sustainable—environmentally or financially. But this year, I've finally found a styling trick that keeps that desire at bay. Enter: the scarf skirt. Recently, celebrities have been sporting silk scarves around their waists, be it as a skirt or over a pair of pants. Chloë Sevigny, like the trendsetter that she is, kicked things off with a Vaquera scarf, worn slung around her hip with an asymmetrical hem. While Sevigny opted to show lots of leg, others prefer to wear theirs over trousers. On a walk through London, Alexa Chung offered an update on a simple white tee and businesslike gray trousers thanks to the brown Gucci scarf she wore over her pants. Alessandra Ambrosio had the same idea when she touched down at the Nice Airport ahead of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Breaking up an otherwise-all-white outfit, the model slung a pale pink printed silk triangle across her waist. Alexa Chung in London. Neil P. I, for one, like to interrupt an all-black outfit with a colorful silk scarf. Meanwhile, my colleague Laia Garcia-Furtado, Vogue Runway's senior fashion news editor, channels her inner Alanis Morissette. 'I always bring all these scarves with me when I travel and usually they never get worn but suddenly I figured out they could help me channel what I like to call Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie vibes, or how Alanis dressed after she came back from India (thank you, India!),' she says. 'I don't think of them as a skirt per se, but they're definitely a more low-key way to do a skirt or dress over pants, which is at the core of it all.' So, for anyone feeling stuck in a fashion rut this summer, allow a scarf skirt to do the heavy lifting for you.

Brad Pitt shows off bold new buzz cut while out in LA
Brad Pitt unveiled a strikingly new look on Thursday when he was spotted driving in Los Angeles. The 61-year-old Oscar winner is famous for making regular changes to his appearance — which often mirror the style of the woman he's with at the time — but his latest look marked a particularly big change. Instead of the longer hair that he has lately been rocking, Brad debuted a shockingly short buzzed haircut when he was spotted behind the wheel. The close-cropped look was a major deviation from the spiky, medium-length hair he wore late last year and in his upcoming racing film F1, and it was an even bigger change compared to the the shaggy neck-length hair and full salt-and-pepper beard he was seen displaying earlier this year. Brad had opted to keep the beard, but he instead opted for a much shorter version that, when combined with the buzz cut, gave him a sporty, youthful appearance. Instead of the longer hair that he has lately sported, Brad debuted a shockingly short buzzed haircut when he was spotted behind the wheel. He also rocked a close-cropped beard and wore thick tortoiseshell sunglasses with a stylish white jacket The fashion aficionado wore a stylish pair of chunky tortoiseshell sunglasses, and he had on an eye-catching white button-up jacket. Brad's most recent sighting appears to have been around Easter Sunday, when he gave a young fan working a McDonald's drive-through window in New Zealand the surprise of a lifetime when he pulled up. Although the Tree Of Life star's order hasn't been revealed, the woman shared a fun video in which she managed to get him to greet her father on camera. 'Just say hello to my dad?' she pleaded in the clip, with the actor responding 'No' before relenting. 'I'm sorry. Hi Dad,' Brad said, before waving at the camera and adding, 'All right, moving on. Happy Easter.' Brad has previously styled his hair fairly short, particularly in the late 1990s and early 2000s. But he may be even better known for the lengthy periods between his film projects when he lets his hair grow. After growing his hair out for a more period-appropriate look in Interview With The Vampire (1994), he continued showing off his even longer hair — now complete with a full beard — while promoting the film, which costarred Tom Cruise. Brad also opted for a more reserved but still shaggy look earlier this decade. He tended to skip the beard for a somewhat more refined look in recent years, with hair that was often long enough to slick back but not quite long enough to touch his shoulders. But after going all out on the rugged bearded look, Brad appears to have gone in the opposite direction. Brad famously has appeared to adjust the length of his hair and his styling to complement the women he has dated or been married to over the years, including his ex-wives Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston, as well as girlfriends Gwyneth Paltrow and Juliette Lewis. But he doesn't appear to have made the drastic changes to match his current partner, girlfriend Ines de Ramon. Instead, Brad has seemingly contrasted with the stunning Swiss jewelry professional over the past few years, rocking an individual look during their public outings. Part of that may be that they have a different relationship than he had with some of his former partners, reported exclusively that he has no plans to marry her — for a heartbreaking reason. While there are seemingly differing views about their future, it appears that their styles have followed suit, with Brad confidently branching out with his own unique appearance. Most notably, when the couple officially made their red carpet debut at the Wolfs premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in September 2024. While their big moment would have been the perfect opportunity to rock matching ensembles to highlight how in love and united they were, instead they went for distinctly differing looks, with the hunk donning an all black outfit while Ines stunned in a figure-hugging white dress. Their locks were not on the same page either, with Brad's cropped spiked hair flecked with blond highlights and dashes of gray compared to Ines' lusciously long raven tresses. Other public appearances of the couple also show how Brad has broken the norm with his current girlfriend. Weeks earlier in on September 8, the pair stepped out with Ines looking sleek in a black co-ord, while Brad decided to showcase his jazzy sense of style, teaming his white shirt with a pair of red-and-white checked trousers. Another outing in New York that month saw Brad once again expressing his individual style, turning heads in a bright lemon ensemble while Ines looked effortlessly elegant in a fluffy beige two-piece and coordinating heels. Meanwhile, another trip out in the Big Apple saw rocking a casual outfit consisting of a white bucket hat, white hoodie and houndstooth trousers. Disparately, Ines cut an elegant figure, opting for a more polished look with chic cream knitwear, trendy tortoiseshell sunglasses and a designer bag draped across her body. While there is nothing wrong with not matching with your partner, Brad and Ines' differing styles further highlights Brad's apparent past love for morphing into his partners. From Angelina Jolie to Jennifer Aniston and Juliette Lewis, Brad has romanced some of Hollywood's biggest leading ladies. And fans previously couldn't help but notice that Brad has at some point echoed the look of the woman he's dating. In the past, fans have spotted a remarkable likeness between Brad and ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow, with them showing off matching blond cropped hair. While he and ex wife Jennifer Aniston attended the 51st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in 1999 both sporting textured sun-kissed hair and golden tans. Meanwhile, back at the 2012 Screen Actors Guild awards, Brad and his other former wife Angelina Jolie looked eerily similar with their swept-back, highlighted hair, chiseled features and sleek black clothes. Going back even further, Brad was pictured with voluminous hair just like that of then-girlfriend Jitka Pohledek in 1994, just a year after showing off a shorter do much like ex girlfriend Juliette Lewis. It comes as the Daily Mail exclusively revealed that the movie megastar won't be hearing wedding bells anytime soon, despite him being loved-up with jewelry designer Ines. In the past, fans have spotted a remarkable likeness between Brad and ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow, with them showing off matching blond cropped hair [pictured in 1997] In 1994 Brad was spotted showing off a shorter do much like ex girlfriend Juliette Lewis as he attended a premiere 'Brad is totally in love with Ines, but he doesn't want to go down the road of marriage and kids,' a source told the Daily Mail. 'He's been burned badly by the divorce from Angelina and his kids wanting little if nothing to do with him. He's 61 and loving his life just the way it is.' Pitt and de Ramon have been dating for more than two years. They made their initial appearance as a couple in November 2022 at a Bono concert. As the couple's relationship strengthens, lingering in the background has been a bitter custody battle for Pitt's six children and a second legal battle over the ownership of his French winery, Chateau Miraval. Still, de Ramon is one bright spot in the veteran actor's life, and she has impressed his friends who are still holding out hope they will wed. 'He has spoken to those close to him, including George [Clooney], and everyone has signed off on him doing it,' the insider revealed. 'It would be a nice thing for him as it would be the official moving on from his romantic past with [Jennifer Aniston] and Angie.'

BAFTA TV Awards 2025 worst dressed: Christine McGuinness, Una Healy and Gabby Allen lead fashion flops on the red carpet as their daring glitzy gowns fail to impress
The 2025 BAFTA TV Awards attracted a slew of famous faces on Sunday night at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, all dressing to the nines for the occasion. However, there were several stars who unfortunately seemed to miss the fashion mark as they hit the red carpet, with overly racy or outlandish looks. Among the slew of sartorial blunders was Christine McGuinness, who ensured all eyes were on her at the glittering soiree, but for all the wrong reasons. The TV personality, 37, oozed sex appeal in a dazzling gown made of a shimmery lycra material, that clung to her incredible figure. The number boasted a long train with a strange structural hem and a huge cutout across her chest to expose her ample cleavage. Bizarre metallic paint drips were the only thing that preserved Christine's modesty, while she added even more drama with statement gold earrings. The Real Housewives of Cheshire star teamed her look with chunky gold bag and silver heels, leaving her blonde locks to flow over her shoulders. Una Healy also failed to impress with her daring look, as she put on a leggy display in a strapless black minidress with a short black puffy skirt. While the number showcased the Saturdays singer's slender frame, the silver sequinned bodice looked less than elegant on the red carpet. Gabby Allen pulled out all the stops for the evening, leaving little to the imagination in a black lace dress that barely covered her toned figure. Her sexy number featured cutouts across her chest to show off her cleavage and chiselled midriff, and a daringly high leg slit. The Love Island opted to go braless under the sparkly sheer gown, which flashed a glimpse of her underwear. Emily Atack went for a very unique look, commanding attention in figure-hugging white dress and bizarre leather evening gloves. While the outfit didn't hit the current fashion trend, the actress appeared to making a nod to her eighties TV show Rivals, with her shoulder padded look. Gabby Allen pulled out all the stops for the evening, leaving little to the imagination in a black lace dress that barely covered her toned figure She posed with Rivals co-star Alex Hassell, elevating her frame in a pair of black stilettos and toting her belongings in a satin black handbag. Acknowledging that her black gloves may have been a mistake, Emily took to Instagram, to admit: 'Bafta Sunday. Gonna be a red hot carpet'. Anna Maxwell Martin is nominated in one of the biggest categories, best leading actress, for her role in Until I Kill You. But she may not be in the running to win any fashion awards, with her voluminous black gown threatening to overwhelm her slender frame. The actress' eye-catching look was covered in layers of fabric and a large bow over her shoulder. The star-studded evening will see a slew of celebrities take home awards celebrating excellence in TV, as well as a line-up of standout performances. Global music stars Jessie J and Tom Grennan are both set to put on a show at the ceremony, with powerhouse Jessie singing The Award Goes To as her first TV performance in six years. Meanwhile, multi-platinum popstar Tom will play his brand new track Full Attention, in a TV exclusive. Both performances will air during the awards ceremony on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday 11 May at 7pm. In addition, BAFTA has confirmed award-winning concert violinist and social media sensation Esther Abrami will be performing Apple Tree for the In Memoriam tribute. Speaking about her performance, Jessie J said: 'I haven't sung on British television in years. What a way to come back, it's an honour. But who will the award go to, that's the question.' Meanwhile, Tom added: 'It's a real honour to have been invited by such a prestigious event as BAFTA to perform in front of so many esteemed actors and creatives.' For the first time, Scottish actor, writer, producer and presenter Alan Cumming will host the glitzy eremony. Emma Baehr, Executive Director of Awards & Content at BAFTA, said: 'We're delighted that Alan Cumming will be hosting this year's BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises. 'He will definitely bring a playful sense of mischief and fun to the ceremony, so audiences should expect the unexpected at Britain's biggest celebration of TV on Sunday 11 May.' Elsewhere, the nominations for the BAFTA Television Awards 2025 P&O Cruises Memorable Moment Award have been announced. From Gavin and Stacey, to The Traitors and Bridgerton, six of this year's most acclaimed TV shows are set to battle it out for one of the ceremony's biggest accolades. The category is the only award in which the public will be able to have their say and vote for their favourite scene. Last year's BAFTA Television Awards delivered an average audience of 2.7 million on BBC One and iPlayer, whilst social media coverage of the night received over 7 million views. In terms of other nominations, Strictly Come Dancing has been snubbed of a nomination for the first time in the show's 20-year history. The BBC favourite had been nominated in the Entertainment Programme category every year since the rebooted version of the show launched in 2004. Meanwhile, Netflix phenomenon Baby Reindeer led the pack with an incredible eight nominations after it proved a global success following its release last year. Richard Gadd who wrote and starred in the series about his own experiences of being stalked is up for Leading Actor, while his co-star Jessica Gunning is in the running for the Supporting Actress award. In the Limited Drama category, Baby Reindeer will face ITV drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office, which was based on one of the greatest miscarriages of justice in British legal history, where hundreds of innocent sub-postmasters and postmistresses were wrongly accused of theft, fraud and false accounting due to a defective IT system. Mr Bates vs The Post Office received a total of six nominations, while Disney series Rivals and Apple TV's Slow Horses also had the same amount of nods. Ant and Dec, The Traitors and Stacey Solomon's Sort Your Life Out are among the nominees for best entertainment performance. The best leading actress nominees are Anna Maxwell Martin (Until I Kill You), Billie Piper (Scoop), Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing), Marisa Abela (Industry), Monica Dolan (Mr Bates vs The Post Office) and Sharon D Clarke (Mr Loverman). David Tennant (Rivals), Gary Oldman (Slow Horses), Lennie James (Mr Loverman), Martin Freeman (The Responder) and Toby Jones (Mr Bates vs The Post Office) take on Gadd for the best actor accolade. A total of 21 out of 44 nominees in the performance categories have received their first BAFTA Television Awards nomination. Soap star Danny Dyer is among the group who have received their first Bafta nomination in the best male comedy performance category for his role in Mr Bigstuff. In the prestigious best drama category, crime dramas Blue Lights and Sherwood will take on superhero series Supacell and acclaimed period drama Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light. Jane Millichip, CEO of Bafta, said: '2024 was a standout year for television, testified by the 134 brilliant programmes nominated by BAFTA members. 'The power of television to drive national conversation, to tap into the stories of public interest, and to inspire societal change, is second to none. And to do this through every genre is even more impressive. 'The drama of sport, the truth of fiction, the humanity of documentary, the poignancy of comedy, serious entertainment – this year's nominees reflect every aspect of the human condition. 'UK television is at the top of its game, and it is a privilege at Bafta to showcase the work of our incredibly talented nominees at the Bafta Television Craft Awards and Bafta Television Awards with P&O Cruises. Tune into BBC One and BBC iPlayer on May 11, not only to find out who wins, but to inspire your next watchlist.' And the official wine sponsor of the evening, Casillero del Diablo, will once again be the drink of choice for winners, nominees, celebrities, and VIP guests alike.
