"I've made some great friends at Celtic and will always be supporting the club in everything it does. "The Celtic fans are the best around and I thank them for all the support I have been given by them too. "I wish the club and our supporters nothing but success for the future." ‘The stuff of dreams' – Sligo native Johnny Kenny scores first Celtic goal in first start for the club

Kenny's glancing header on 54 minutes made it 4-1, with Ireland's Adam Idah making it 5-1 after coming on for Kenny with 20 minutes to go. It was a seventh senior Celtic appearance for Kenny, who returned to his parent club in January after a hugely successful loan with Shamrock Rovers. The 21-year-old told that it was 'the stuff of dreams'/ The Scottish Premiership champions play their final league game of the season on Saturday when they will lift the league trophy, before they meet Aberdeen again in the cup final on May 24. Kenny told Celtic's website: "I knew early last week, the gaffer told me I was going to play. I just had to be ready. Delighted to come in and contribute that way. It's the stuff of dreams, as a young Irish lad to come here and get your first start and score, it's special. "It's special. Since I came back in January, they've (team-mates) all really looked after me. I'm delighted to get my opportunity here tonight and take it. Two more to go. "It's amazing. The gaffer has been unbelievable with me since I came back (from Shamrock Rovers loan spell). I knew I had to be patient, I trusted him. "I haven't been playing that much but every day he's been there, helping me be a better player and he has definitely made me a better player. The confidence he gives me is just amazing. Thankfully I repaid him here tonight.' Manager Brendan Rodgers said: 'We're pleased for Johnny because he works so hard, he is a natural goalscorer and when you see his movement for the goal, it's so good and everyone was delighted for him.'
