Child critically injured in Oshawa crash, 1 driver in custody: police

One child was critically injured in a fail-to-remain crash in Oshawa on Wednesday night. One driver is now in custody following a fail-to-remain crash in Oshawa that left one child with life-threatening injuries. The collision occurred near Taunton and Stevenson roads at around 11 p.m. Wednesday. Police told CP24 that one of the two vehicles involved in the crash did not stay at the scene but was subsequently located. The driver is now in custody but it is not clear what charges they are facing. A child suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and was rushed to SickKids for treatment. One adult was transported to hospital but the extent of their injuries is not clear. The Durham Regional Police Service's collision unit is investigating and the area has now reopened to traffic.
