Former MP Rory Amon accused of breaching bail conditions over alleged child sex offending
Former MP Rory Amon will face court today accused of breaching his bail conditions over alleged child sex offending. NSW Police confirmed 35-year-old Amon was arrested at Day Street police station around 10pm on Wednesday. He was refused bail and will appear before the Downing Centre Local Court today. The former Liberal MP has pleaded not guilty and been committed to stand trial on five counts of having sexual intercourse with a child between the ages of 10 and 14, two counts of indecent assault of a person under 16, two counts of attempted sexual intercourse with a child between the ages of 10 and 14, and committing an act of indecency with a person under 16. He quit Parliament after being charged in relation to alleged offences in Sydney's North against a 13-year-old boy.
