The 5 Best Protein Bars a Fitness Expert Has Tested in 2025

What we like about it: The Perfect Bar needs to be refrigerated to stay fresh. This protein bar reminds me of a solid yet crumbly cookie dough bar. One bar can have approximately 200 to 300 calories, give or take, and 11 to 17 grams of protein, depending on the flavor. The total sugars are under 20 grams, but don't include added sugars since they vary depending on the protein bar. This is a dense protein bar, and while higher in calories than others on the list, it can be good to have on hand if you need something to hold you over before your next meal. Who it's best for: This bar is best for those who love chocolate and don't have nut allergies, since most of the bars consist of either peanut, cashew or almond butters. The chocolate chip cookie dough is my favorite flavor and has 12 grams of protein. These bars have more calories and sugar than some others on the list, so be mindful of that if you're trying to lose weight. I can vouch that one of these bars can keep me full for hours, so it's ideal if you're not going to be able to sit down to eat between meals. Other flavors you can enjoy by Perfect Bar include: chocolate brownie, dark chocolate almond, salted caramel and chocolate hazelnut. Who should avoid it: If you have a nut allergy or don't like a protein bar with a heavy nut profile, you may find this option to be too much. Additionally, if you don't want to have to refrigerate your protein bars, you're better off with one that is shelf-stable.

Cadbury delights chocolate lovers by bringing back discontinued bar - but you'll have to be quick

Chocolate lovers have expressed their joy after spotting a Cadbury 's chocolate bar that disappeared from supermarket shelves over two decades ago. The nostalgic Top Deck Bar, which vanished from UK shops in the early 2000s, has now been spotted for sale at The Range. The Cadbury's sweet treat, which launched in 1993, features two layers of chocolate, one white and the other classic Dairy Milk. Fans of the '90s favourite have long been calling for the confectionery brand to reintroduce the bar, but their efforts have been fruitless until now. The brand has re-released the sweet treat for a limited period in celebration of its 200th anniversary. However, the chocolate bar is being sold for varying prices at different retailers across the country. A 110g portion in Morrisons is being sold for £2.00 while Amazon are selling a slightly bigger bar, 180g, for £6.99. Meanwhile, The Sun reported that the in-demand chocolate bar costs just 75p at FarmFoods. Chocolate lovers have shared their delight regarding the chocolate bar's return on social media. Under a YouTube video reviewing the bar, one excited fan wrote: 'It is my most favorite chocolate. I could not trust my eyes when I saw this in Great Britain last week. 'I always loved the moment when milk chocolate and white chocolate separated, first you taste the milk chocolate and then the separated top white one cracks while biting on it and then the white chocolate taste comes through.' Another person wrote: 'Mmmmm I loved Top Deck back in the day, so I will definitely grab a bar when I do my weekly shop on Saturday.' A third excited user added: 'Nice to see the Top Deck Cadbury bar return, it's been years.' However, for some people the return of the '90s classic wasn't quite the same and fell short of the original. One critic wrote: 'Top deck bars are nice but it's a joke how thin Cadbury's bars have gone. I know there's more pressing things happening in the world at the moment but personally I think it's a travesty.' Another disappointed person added: 'It's just ok. Would I buy it again? No. Tastes pretty bland.' It comes after Cadbury launched a new chocolate bar in the UK - which is bound to delight sweet toothed fans. The new Twirl White Dipped became available across the UK from June 2, but shoppers have to be quick to get their hands on the treat, as it is limited edition. Based on the popular Twirl, the new variant takes the original flaky finger, but instead of coating it in milk chocolate, it is coated in white chocolate. While retailers are able to price the bar as they like, the recommended retail price for the snack is 99p. The bar is comparable to Cadbury's discontinued Snow Flake, which disappeared from shelves 2008. In June 2018, a decade after the Snowflake disappeared from shelves, a petition calling for its return racked up 4,000 signatures. It originally hit the shelves back in August 2000, thanks to a rather notorious introduction at Anthea Turner's wedding to Grant Bovey where the couple were pictured chomping on the chocolate during their reception. Despite the photo appearing in OK! along with a free bar of the chocolate, all three parties denied it was a sponsorship deal. Fans shared their excitement about the return of the chocolate bar - but one said it tastes 'bland' Three years later, the name was changed to Flake Snow, and in 2008 it was taken off the shelves for good. Then 10 years later, John Malogony from London, launched a petition to bring it back, writing: 'In 2008 Cadbury broke hearts by discontinuing the Snow Flake (or Flake Snow). The bizarre decision still baffles people to this day and it needs to be rectified.' Fellow sweet-toothed fans signed the petition, with one writing: 'One of my favorite childhood snacks. Ready to see this back in stores!' Another wrote: 'No more discontinued for all eternity.' Fans of the Snowflake may be pleased to see the new Twirl White Dipper. While it is slightly different to its predecessor, it still has the elements of white chocolate with the classic texture of the Flake. Talking about the launch, Katya Savelieva, brand manager for Twirl at Mondelez International, claimed people would not want to miss out on the treat. She said: 'With smooth white chocolate surrounding our iconic milk chocolate swirls, the new Twirl White Dipped is an indulgence you won't want to miss – grab it as soon as you can and experience Twirl like never before!' Cadbury also shared a Facebook post about the news - which prompted some comparisons with its discontinued predecessor.

Meet "Big Daddy": M&S's Bold New Chocolate Treat

Is 'Big Daddy' the Next Chocolate Craze in the UAE? M&S Thinks So. There's something brewing in the world of chocolate—and it's chunky, cheeky, and unapologetically indulgent. Say hello to Big Daddy, the latest oversized treat from Marks & Spencer that's already creating a buzz on both sides of the aisle (and the internet). Read More: Dubai Resident Gets Scammed Over Viral Dubai Chocolate Read More: Fix Chocolate Teams Up with Dubai Crown Prince Fazza For a nation like the UAE, where dessert is serious business, the launch of 'Big Daddy' feels like a natural fit. This is no ordinary bar. We're talking about layers of caramel, nuts, crunchy textures, and creamy chocolate—all wrapped in a bold, no-holds-barred experience. Two Flavors, One Statement Big Daddy comes in two flavor-packed variations: Original Big Daddy : A power combo of milk and dark chocolate , with a creamy peanut butter center, roasted peanuts, and a luxurious layer of soft caramel . Think of it as a supersized Snickers with a more gourmet twist. Big Daddy Pistachio: Inspired by regional palettes, this edition is an ode to Middle Eastern indulgence, featuring roasted pistachios, pistachio crème, crunchy biscuit bits, gooey sweet and salty caramel, all coated in smooth milk chocolate. Both flavors are generous in portion and unapologetically rich—designed not for restraint, but for celebration. What Are People Saying? Chocolate lovers in the UAE and beyond have been quick to share their verdict. On TikTok and Instagram, the Original Big Daddy has been praised as a 'Snickers on steroids,' with fans raving about its thick layers and perfect balance of sweet and salty. That said, a few noted the price tag is a bit steeper—but 'worth it for the experience,' according to most. As for the Pistachio version, it's striking a chord with fans of local flavor. The creamy pistachio blend has been called 'a clever nod to baklava-style desserts,' though some connoisseurs felt it could have used more crunch to fully channel traditional sweets. Still, it's a bold take that feels right at home in the UAE. Why it Works Here Let's face it—the UAE has a sweet tooth. From gourmet baklava to boutique gelato to date-infused everything, the local market is always on the lookout for the next cult dessert. Big Daddy doesn't try to reinvent the wheel. It simply perfects what already works: nostalgia, portion power, and unapologetic richness. In a world of bite-sized, calorie-counted, protein-packed bars, Big Daddy flips the script. It says, 'Go big or go home.' And there's something refreshingly honest about that. More Than a Chocolate Bar M&S knows its audience. Big Daddy isn't just a snack—it's a conversation starter. It lands perfectly in the 'treat yourself' category, whether you're sharing it with friends, stashing it in your work drawer, or gifting it during Eid or birthdays. And let's not ignore the name. It's bold. It's funny. It's confident. Try asking for a 'Big Daddy' with a straight face—it instantly lightens the mood and sparks curiosity. That's smart branding with bite. Where to Find It You can find both flavors in M&S stores across the UAE. The Pistachio version, especially, feels tailor-made for this region and may not be available for long—so if it piques your interest, don't wait. Final Bite If you're looking for your next chocolate fix that skips the modesty and doubles the delight, Big Daddy might just be your guy. M&S has a history of turning everyday snacks into cult favorites. This time, they may have just created the region's next sweet obsession.
