3 Perfume Tips We Learned From Travis Kelce, An Unexpected Fragrance Fanatic
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Travis Kelce looks like someone who'd smell good, right? There's a suave, cool factor about him that exudes a vibe that he rocks a hot cologne, ya know. Maybe it's that he's really into his style and always looks pretty good (mustache included). Or it's his loud personality, on and off the field. Honestly, I can't imagine anyone spending that much time with Taylor Swift could smell anything less than fantastic. But I don't actually have to guess anymore, since Travis broke down his go-to perfumes and a love story (pun intended) for cologne in a video with GQ. "Gotta have the cologne," Travis says, outlining his essentials. He loves spritzing and trying new scents in "smell good stores," as he calls 'em. "It's all trial and error; it's whatever you feel like," he adds. "Who doesn't love smelling good?" Travis continues. And I couldn't agree more. But even if you can't afford Trav's $$$$ picks (four dollar signs is intentional here—his favorite cologne, Ex Nihilo Blue Talisman, clocks in at $245 for a 1.7 oz bottle), you can glean quite a bit of fragrance wisdom from the three-time Super Bowl winner. He's full of surprises! 1. Curate a wardrobe (and layer them) "You gotta have more than just one, ladies and gentleman," says Travis. He's got three favorite colognes and believes you've gotta have variety. And I couldn't agree more, as a fragrance-obsessed beauty editor. Having a collection of different scents that work with your distinct moods, occasions, and seasons helps you feel more put-together, just by spritzing on a perfume. "Obviously, there are certain smells that just match the fit perfectly, whether it's a dinner night or you're going out with your friends or just going to work," he Talisman Eau de Parfum Key notes: Pear, bergamot, ginger, orange blossom, musk, cedar $355.00 at Key notes: Lychee, bergamot, ginger, peony, rose, cacao, patchouli $350.00 at louisvuittonLV Lovers Key notes: Bergamot, galbanum, ginger, solar notes, sandalwood, cedarwood $350.00 at louisvuitton And Travis is a fan of perfume layering too. "Sometimes you can mix and match if they smell good together," he says. It makes sense: His three faves all share a few notes in common (Travis loves ginger, bergamot, and woods, evidently), so they flow easily with each other if you layer one with the other. 2. Don't limit yourself by gender Fragrance is for everyone, and the idea of "perfumes for women" and "colognes for men" is seriously outdated. Even Travis agrees! One of his go-to Louis Vuitton scents, Attrape-Rêves (which he wholesomely couldn't pronounce because he "failed French freshman year"), is actually marketed as a "woman's scent." But I totally see why Travis loves it. It's a floral perfume that's grounded by earthy patchouli and warm cacao, but opens with bright lychee, bergamot, and ginger. I get it: He likes unique takes on woody, warm scents (especially if they've got ginger in there). With that in mind, I bet he'd love Taylor Swift Wonderstruck... 3. Keep them protected from the sun IDK if Travis just loves his Louis Vuitton heritage print or if he's actually a serious fraghead. But there's more than just a cute reason behind his Louis cases. Actually, these are fantastic for protecting your perfumes. Listen, the juice in your bottles is fragile, and too much heat or sun exposure can change the scent. Not something you want when you're spending a whole lotta money. If you keep your perfumes on a tray on your vanity, consider a case. Louis Vuitton's are stunning for their specific scents if you also have the budget of a champion. Personally, I like to keep my precious scents in a leather vanity case, and I've moved many of my others away from the window. Why Kadyn Proctor makes his cologne passion his Alabama football mission: 'You can't stink'
ATLANTA − Most SEC media days questions Kadyn Proctor faced were about Alabama football, whether it was the Crimson Tide's planned response for its four-loss 2024 season, the state of the offensive line or Alabama's quarterback battle. But when someone began to ask about Proctor's collection of cologne, the Alabama junior offensive tackle's eyes lit up. His passion came alive, one that has turned into a mission for not only the rest of the Crimson Tide offensive line, but for the rest of the roster. "How I see it is, if you're a big guy, you can't stink," Proctor, who's up to 170 bottle of cologne in his collection, said. "You got to be fresh, man. Because the narrative right now is if you're big, you stink, you smell, you're sweaty. That's not how it goes for me. That's why I be saying flip the narrative." Proctor, wearing Audemars Puguet cologne at SEC media days per SiriusXM, said his collection began in elementary school when his father would put on Proctor so he could "smell good for the ladies." Proctor's fascination has carried over to the rest of the Alabama roster. "I wouldn't say just the offensive line," Proctor said. "It's everybody. Everybody's getting into it now." Wilkin Formby, Alabama's right tackle and Proctor's roommate, has 70-to-80 bottles himself. "(We) feed off each other," Proctor said. Proctor clarified he doesn't have his own brand of cologne, nor does he have a Name, Image and Likeness deal associated with any cologne company, something he isn't counting out. For now, Proctor continues to push fresh smells to the rest of the Alabama roster. "The obsession continues, for sure," Proctor said. Trump's Newest Scam Stinks (Literally) of Desperation
Step right up: For a limited time, you, too, could smell like Donald Trump. The president's latest business venture is a pair of colognes that retail for $249 per 3.3-ounce bottle. The scent is called 'Victory 47-45' for men and women, a nod to his dual election wins. The fragrance comes in a small container inscribed with Trump's thick signature, and is topped by a gold statuette of a man in a business suit that doesn't resemble the president but is, presumably, supposed to. 'Trump Fragrances are here. They're called 'Victory 45-47' because they're all about Winning, Strength, and Success—For men and women,' Trump posted on Truth Social Monday evening, announcing their arrival. 'Get yourself a bottle, and don't forget to get one for your loved ones too.' 'Enjoy, have fun, and keep winning!' the president wrote. Neither of the listings for the cologne paint a picture of what it actually smells like, though both allege that they capture 'strength' and 'confidence.' But Victory 47-45 is not the only scent advertised on the website. The president has also featured two other bottles that have supposedly sold out: one that is, curiously, also called 'Victory,' though it appears to come in different packaging and one titled 'COLOGNE: TRUMP FOR MEN' that arrives in a box emblazoned 'Fight, fight, fight'—a reference to the assassination attempt on him in Butler, Pennsylvania, last year. Early reviews of the scents don't bode well. Descriptions of the scent on perfume rating site Fragrantica say the men's version of Victory 47-45 has outdoorsy top notes mixed with cardamom, middle notes of geranium, and woody base notes of amberwood. Overall, it received a rating of 1.66 out of five with 436 votes. One reviewer said it made them feel 'nauseous,' while another said it was 'way, way, way' overpriced with 'very poor longevity and projection.' It 'legit smells like something you could get at Ross for $26,' the second reviewer wrote, noting that the cologne resembles a mixture of more popular perfumes, but worse. 'There just really isn't any reason to own this unless Trump is your God.' The women's version didn't get better ratings, receiving a score of 1.45 out of five with 250 votes. The scent is supposed to smell citrusy, built on a base of vanilla with strawberry middle notes, though one reviewer said it smelled more like 'Don's Diaper.' Others were aghast at the 'cheap' design of the bottle itself, with one user writing that it was 'utterly appalling' that Trump remained atop the women's scent, apparently lacking the 'decency to put his third trophy wife on top.' The company behind the operation, 45Footwear LLC, has a likeness partnership with CIC Ventures LLC, the same organization through which Trump has made millions off of his other tacky grifts, including his remarkably ugly $499 gold sneakers, an assortment of Trump-branded watches (that start at $499 and top out around $899), and a collection of $60-a-pop God Bless the USA Bibles. CIC Ventures LLC and CIC Digital LLC, which managed Trump's Marvel-inspired NFT trading card project, were both fully owned by the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust as of late last year. Despite promises on the products' respective websites that they are the only 'official' locations to buy products 'offered' by Trump, the Trump perfume website FAQ insists that the LLC is 'not owned, managed or controlled' by Trump, the Trump Organization, or CIC. The no-refund website also stresses that Trump has no influence on the fragrances, and that the initiative 'is not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign.'

Henry Jacques – the haute parfumerie maison celebrating its 50th anniversary this year – has unveiled the latest chapter in its olfactory story with the launch of the collection Il y Avait un Jardin. Just over a decade since the debut of the brand's iconic Les Essences concentrated perfume oils – part of Les Classiques collection – this new venture sees Henry Jacques refocusing on purity and simplicity, presenting a pair of fresh, cologne-inspired fragrances. Defying the conventions of haute parfumerie – a complex art and science we have been taught to revere – the collection embraces a pared-back elegance, elevating cologne without seeking to reinvent it. It unfolds into a delicate heart of orange blossom and lavender, finishing with deep, elegant notes of warm sandalwood, and unexpectedly ambery benzoin and cistus. The fragrances are presented in 250ml bottles of thick green laboratory glass, eschewing fuss for practicality.
