Miley Cyrus slammed over joke about getting JoJo Siwa ‘back out' of the closet
Miley Cyrus' comment came in like a wrecking ball. The former Disney Channel star was slammed after joking about JoJo Siwa coming 'back out' of the closet amid her romance with Chris Hughes. The Hannah Montana star, 32, made the controversial quip in a Dreamland Pride Festival video on Sunday, reports Page Six. 'Enjoy coming out of the closet if this Pride is the time for you,' the actress said over the weekend, telling attendees to 'have an amazing Pride.' The Grammy winner concluded, 'Alright, I'm going back to get some more pretzels and find JoJo Siwa and bring her back out.' Social media users took to X to remind Cyrus that 'hello, bisexuality is a thing.' One wrote, 'I adore Miley but this isn't OK. JoJo never went back into the closet, SHE'S STILL QUEER!! Again JoJo being with Chris doesn't erase or change her attraction to women.' Others, however, defended the Flowers singer and insisted she was 'just joking.' Reps for Cyrus and Siwa have yet to respond to Page Six 's request for comment. Siwa, notably, came out in 2021. 'I still don't know what I am. It's like, I want to figure it out,' she clarified to People at the time. 'I always just say gay because it just kind of covers it or queer because I think the keyword is cool. 'Technically I would say that I am pansexual because that's how I have always been my whole life is just, like, my human is my human,' Siwa, 22, continued. The Dance Moms alum has since dated Kylie Prew, Katie Mills, Avery Cyrus, Dakayla Wilson and Kath Ebbs. Siwa was in a relationship with Ebbs when she joined Season 24 of Celebrity Big Brother UK — where she met Hughes. The pair continued to make headlines for their PDA moments, with Siwa giving an update on her sexuality during a confessional. 'I think being here, I've realised, 'Oh no, I'm not a lesbian, I'm queer,' she said. 'I think that's really cool. I'm switching letters!' Shortly after finishing the show — and ending things with Ebbs at the wrap party — Siwa confirmed her relationship with Hughes, 32, is not a 'platonic' one. She gushed, 'I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way.' As for Miley, the L ast Song star has been publicly out as pansexual since 2016.

Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry's son, 15, comes out and reveals why he changed his name to Elliott
Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry is celebrating a major milestone with her eldest son, who came out as gay and revealed he now goes by a new name during the latest episode of her Barely Famous podcast. The 33-year-old reality star invited her 15-year-old, whom she shares with ex Jo Rivera, to co-host Friday's episode and give an update on his life. 'It's very important to me because I feel like growing up on TV, it's hard to show who you really are when a camera is in front of you all the time,' the teen said. 'It's almost like you have a TV face. It's harder to be yourself and to be more comfortable.' He went on to explain that he changed his name after no longer feeling connected to his birth name. 'I started going by Elliott because at some point, I wasn't happy with my first name,' he said. 'It just doesn't feel like me.' Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry is celebrating a major milestone with her eldest son, who came out as gay and revealed he now goes by a new name during the latest episode of her Barely Famous podcast The 33-year-old reality star invited her 15-year-old, whom she shares with ex Jo Rivera, to co-host Friday's episode and give an update on his life Lowry noted that she believes the switch was partly an effort to separate from the version of himself viewers saw on MTV, and Elliott agreed that was true. He then confirmed he identifies as gay. Overcome with emotion, Lowry broke down in tears as she praised her son's courage, saying she was 'so proud' of him for embracing his identity and calling it a 'brave thing to do.' Her son added, "I'm sick of people coming up with their own stories and putting things in their own words and things coming out on other people's terms about me, because my life isn't entertainment for other people. 'My life is my life and I can do what I want with it. And for people to take things from my life, like personal stuff, is not okay. 'If I want to share it, I should share that on my own terms.' Kailyn also shares son Lincoln, 11, with ex Javi Marroquin; sons Lux, 7, and Creed, 4, with ex Chris Lopez; and son Rio, 2, with fiancé Elijah Scott. In late 2023, she also welcomed twins Verse and Valley with Scott. Overcome with emotion, Lowry broke down in tears as she praised her son's courage, saying she was 'so proud' of him for embracing his identity and calling it a 'brave thing to do' The podcast reveal comes after Kailyn showed off her slimmed down frame with bikini snaps after undergoing a breast reduction. Back in December Lowry revealed she had gotten a breast reduction just before Christmas Eve. She used her Instagram Story to share various post-op selfies as she tracked her recovery and asked fans if they wanted further content detailing her operation. Lowry's surgery came months after she revealed she was told she needed to lose weight in order to be eligible for a breast augmentation. On her Almost Famous podcast in May she said: 'I want to get a boob job, right? I call around. I'm making these consultations to get a boob job. You know what they told me? They told me I need to lose 40 pounds.' She reiterated, 'So 40 or 50 pounds, more like 50 but maybe get away with 40 pounds, before they can even operate on me.' Reflecting on the moment, the former MTV star admitted she was overcome with emotion, 'sobbing' on the phone with a doctor's office as she considered a 'breast reduction, implants [or] lift.' 'I don't even know if I can get my double chin done,' she noted. After welcoming her twins in late 2023, Kailyn admitted she wanted to try the popular weight loss drug Ozempic to drop weight quick to return to her pre-baby body. 'How hard it is to lose weight as an adult, f**k my life. I'm scared,' she admitted on her Baby Mamas No Drama podcast in January 2024. 'I was in the gym five days a week. If you're going to get plastic surgery you have to maintain it.'

Never Mind the Possible Food Poisoning, the Proposal Had to Go On
When Dr. Kevin Wei-Han Chi and Brian Chiu matched on the Coffee Meets Bagel app in November 2015, both were still coming out. Dr. Chi kept his first relationship with a man a secret for four years, while Mr. Chiu had only been in short-term relationships with women. In his medical residency, then, Dr. Chi was meeting as many men as he could manage between long hospital shifts. On a rare weekend off, he decided to make the one-hour drive to San Francisco from his home in Mountain View, Calif., for another first date he thought would go nowhere. What began with soufflé pancakes at Griddle Fresh (now known as Pancake Boy) in the city's Noe Valley neighborhood turned into a 10-hour date that included taking in the views of the city from Twin Peaks, and sharing their coming out stories at the Sutro Baths ruins overlooking the Pacific Ocean at sunset. After a sushi dinner, they ended the evening at Mr. Chiu's place. While listening to Adele's newly released album, '25,' they shared their first kiss. In addition to their love of puzzles, escape rooms, travel, camping and backpacking through the wilderness, both come from conservative Asian backgrounds. Mr. Chiu admired how much compassion Dr. Chi had for his family members who couldn't accept his sexuality right away. 'I realized I really value that type of insight and wisdom in a partner,' Mr. Chiu said. Feeling unusually comfortable for a first date, Mr. Chiu asked Dr. Chi how many children he wanted and how he would want to have them. Such directness 'could seem like a red flag," Dr. Chi said, 'but Brian was just so authentic.' Four days later, Mr. Chiu drove to Mountain View, and the two worked on a Thanksgiving diorama of an apple stand with turkeys. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.
