Homeowner confronts Australia Post driver over delivery habit that frustrates Aussies

A tradie has confronted an Australia Post driver who was busted red-handed hurling packages onto his front porch. CCTV captured from several angles showed the third-party contract driver walking up to the Perth home last week and tossing the package onto the porch before ringing the doorbell. What he didn't realise was that the customer had just pulled up in the driveway and saw the entire incident. 'Hey,' he calls out to the stunned driver. 'They're my shoes, man. 'You've just thrown them across the floor.' The driver is overheard trying to apologise as the customer threatened to report him. 'I've got four recordings, and I'll send them if I have to,' he added. 'You're lucky that I just got home.' The incident prompted the tradesman to share the CCTV on TikTok, where it has racked up almost one million views within three days. 'Dear AusPost: This isn't the Olympics. Stop throwing my orders like discus. Caught. Twice. On. Camera,' the footage was captioned. Australia Post confirmed on Monday that the third-party contractor no longer works for them following an investigation. 'Australia Post has strict protocols for the delivery of parcels and regularly reminds team members about correct handling procedures,' a spokesman told Daily Mail. 'These actions do not align with the standards we expect, and this third-party contractor is no longer delivering for Australia Post. 'We encourage any customer who has concerns about their delivery to get in touch with us directly via our website or by calling 13 7678.' The clip sparked a fiery debate between viewers. 'Well done for confronting him. So sick of Aus Post no care at all,' one commented. A woman added: 'It's literally like no one has pride in their work anymore.' Others leapt to the driver's defence. 'Don't blame him when he gets paid peanuts doing deliveries,' one commented. Another added: 'Your shoes aren't damaged, relax.' A third wrote: 'At least yours drops it off. Ours just drives past and says no one's home, so we have to collect it.' Support for the driver prompted other viewers to hit back. 'Regardless of whether he's being paid $25 or $45 an hour, there's a job to be done and you've got to do it properly,' one argued. The tradesman revealed within the comments that he didn't want the driver to lose his job over the incident. 'Jobs are hard enough to come by these days,' he said. 'But I also don't want my things thrown at my door when he can just place them down.'
