Cambridge man facing new charges, including possession of a prohibited weapon, after break and enter

A 46-year-old Cambridge man is facing additional charges in connection with a North Dumfries Township break-in.
Waterloo Regional Police received reports of a break-and-enter in progress at a business on Dumfries Road around 4:50 p.m. Saturday.
When officers got there, they found a suspect a short distance away. Police said he had bolt cutters and a substantial length of copper cable on him.
A 46-year-old Cambridge man was arrested and charged with break and enter, possession of break and enter tools and mischief under $5,000.
In an update on Wednesday, police said they seized the suspect's vehicle and completed a search warrant. During the search, police seized bolt cutters, copper wire, a prohibited knife and suspected methamphetamine.
Police said the man is now also facing charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled substance and breach of a release order in addition to the original charges.
