HONG KONG SAR - Media OutReach Newswire - 16 July 2025 - From the popularity of anti-aging supplements and aesthetic treatments to Silicon Valley billionaires' pursuit of immortality, the global wave of anti-aging is gaining momentum, and Hong Kong is no exception. Questions like "How to stay young?", "Is NMN really effective?" and "At what age should you start anti-aging care?" have become part of everyday conversation. While many are eager to delay the signs of aging, few truly understand the science behind address this knowledge gap, Dr. Fred Zülli, Founder and Business Development Director of Swiss-based biotech company Mibelle Biochemistry, was specially invited to Hong Kong to co-host a seminar with the Hong Kong Society of Cosmetic Chemists. The seminar provided an in-depth look at the latest advancements in Swiss anti-aging research, starting with the 12 "Hallmarks of Aging" theory published in the journal. Dr. Zülli explained how Swiss biotechnology is strategically targeting these biological mechanisms of aging and translating scientific breakthroughs into practical applications in skincare and aesthetic medicine, making age-defying solutions a scientific reality rather than a distant ideal. During the seminar, Dr. Zülli also revealed several truly effective, science-backed methods to combat have rapidly emerged as one of the most promising technologies in the skincare industry. According to market data, the global exosome market was valued at over US$140 million in 2023 and is projected to expand at 28% CAGR by 2030. In the U.S., Google searches for "exosomes" surged 17% in one year, evidence of rising consumer interest. Dr. Fred Zülli explains that exosomes are tiny vesicles that are released by cells into the extracellular space, rich in proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. They can be derived from human, animals or plants cells, including plant stem cells, and reconstructed using liposome technology. These "cellular messengers" play key roles in intercellular communication, immune modulation, and drug delivery. When used in skincare or microneedling treatments, they accelerate wound healing, enhance skin regeneration, and deliver deeper, faster, and safer results. Exosomes offer dual benefits: they strengthen the skin barrier while activating deeper cellular repair, improving overall skin quality, reducing fine lines, and restoring firmness for true inside-out anti-aging researchers at Mibelle have developed the PhytoCellTec™ Exosomes technology, using natural Goji Stem Cell Extract to stimulate exosome production. This powerful natural ingredient demonstrates "dual action", promoting keratinocyte differentiation and the expression of epidermal growth and antioxidant-related genes to reinforce the skin's outer it reactivates mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), boosting collagen synthesis and cellular vitality to enhance skin elasticity and density. Clinical studies show that a cream containing just 0.4% of Goji Stem Cell Extract significantly reduces fine lines and wrinkles after 56 days. Results can be seen in just 28 days with improved skin density and facial contour, and even firmness and lifting effects when applied to the breast area, showcasing its applications well beyond facial proven regenerative and wound-healing properties, exosomes are emerging as a viable alternative to stem cell therapies. As non-living biological elements, they are more stable and easier to handle. Exosome-based serums are particularly effective when used with microneedling, enabling deep skin repair and faster exosomes have been shown to be bioavailable to mammalian cells and exhibit anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-tumour, and skin-repairing benefits. Recent studies confirm their ability to combat skin aging, reinforcing their growing role in both cosmetic dermatology and everyday skincare. EXCLUSIVE Danish skincare legend Ole Henriksen, 74, spills what Queen Mary is really like 'off duty' - and his clever diet and anti-ageing secrets
When it comes to skincare, Ole Henriksen is the guy. Despite the industry exploding in recent years, Ole's namesake brand remains one of the best-selling in the world - and for good reason. The products are fun to look at, smell fantastic and work... really well. A former dancer turned cosmetic chemistry graduate and esthetician, Ole started off with his own spa in 1975 and has since worked with the likes of Barbra Streisand, Cher, Madonna, Diana Ross and Hugh Jackman. Now at 74, the infectiously dynamic Danish guru is reflecting on how consumers have changed, his absolute beauty 'musts', his diet and fitness ethos and what it was like to work with Queen Mary over the years. 'I met Queen Mary decades ago when she first moved to Denmark,' Ole tells FEMAIL. 'She is the kindest, most beautiful, most caring individual anyone could possibly dream of meeting and I had the honour of working on charity projects with her for years.' 'What we all know about her around the globe is how chic and stylish she is, and yet how warm and personable she is. She's kind to children, she's a great mother - an example across the board with all her beautiful values.' Ole also fondly reflects on one of his favourite moments with the beloved Aussie-born royal. 'I want to tell you a fun story. One night, I hosted the opening of the Copenhagen Fashion Week that she was the guest of. She came up on the stage and slipped on her way up,' he recalls fondly. 'And what happened? I grabbed her in my arms... [it was] a huge honour to hold her in my arms.' Known for his high energy and impossibly radiant skin, Ole says there are two key non-negotiables in his routine: Vitamin C and Alpha Hydroxy Acids. 'I'm proud to say I was a pioneer incorporating various sources of Vitamin C into the Ole Henriksen Skincare range; the man I gained much knowledge from was Linus Pauling who twice won the Nobel prize for extensive research in the powers of it,' Ole says. 'Therefore, I incorporate many forms of Vitamin C into my products. It is an antioxidant that delivers firmer and more resilient skin. It also helps to visibly even skin tone and helps to prevent future environmental damage.' The AHAs fall under his Dewtopia range, which can be found, alongside all his other products, in Sephora stores globally. 'What I love about these naturally derived acids is their ability to work at the skin's surface, helping to loosen, lift, and literally eliminate the dead, dull, lifeless skin cells,' he says. 'That results in smoother, more refined looking skin texture and as a bonus, it helps pores visibly vanish.' 'She is the kindest, most beautiful, most caring individual anyone could possibly dream of meeting and I had the honour of working on charity projects with her for years,' Ole said of Queen Mary, 53 (pictured in April) When it comes to beauty on the inside, Ole is very careful with his diet and is sure to exercise daily. 'I'm particular with what I like,' he explains. 'I avoid all kinds of junk food and instead [focus] on a predominantly vegetarian diet that also includes dairy products and organic eggs. I love salads that are colorful and full of nutrients and always top them with a handful of walnuts. 'Daily exercise is essential for my entire wellbeing. I have rings hanging from the ceiling in my office and additional equipment to give it my all. I play my favorite music on Spotify and dance in between each exercise. 'I've found that my body at age 74 is as strong and agile as when I was younger. I always say, "your health is your wealth!".' Over the past few years, Ole has noticed a significant shift in the skincare industry - notably in the expertise of consumers. 'They are becoming more ingredient-savvy and with that they very much care what they put on their skin,' he says. 'Therefore, they also have high expectations as far as how the products perform.' One thing they do care about, Ole says, is how best to strengthen the skin's barrier against changing environmental elements. His solution, unsurprisingly, is his Strength Trainer Peptide Boost Moisturiser. Ole Henriksen's skincare routine: The exact steps for an instant glow Morning: I jump into the bathroom and toss a lot of ice-cold water onto my face while also running the water through my hair. Then I lend myself a big smile in the mirror and say, 'Good morning, Ole, you look absolutely fabulous'. What follows is my Truth Juice Daily Cleanser. I love the foaming action based on coconut extracts of this cleanser; it feels like silk as it slips across my skin thoroughly cleansing and energising my skin without ever drying it. Next is the Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum based on three stable sources of Vitamin C. This serum is light in texture and infused with banana powder inspired pigments that gives my skin the glow of sunshine. I leave it for two minutes to absorb before I apply my Strength Trainer Peptide Boost Moisturiser based on multiple sources of peptides, ceramides, and essential fatty acids to strengthen my skins barrier against the elements. I often refer to this moisturiser as my skin's personal trainer because it optimizes my skins elasticity. Finally, I apply my Banana Bright+ Eye Crème. I use my ring finger on the back of my hand as the palette as I tap it in from the temple region all the way into the inner corners of my eyes. Not only do I notice an immediate glow and awakening of the eye region, but I also love the fact it is created with gold complex Vitamin C. I always apply it last for optimum benefits. I never leave my house without one of my many Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatments! Night: At night is when I love to shower, cleanse my body and my head. I apply my Dewtopia 20% Acid Night Treatment to resurface, smooth and refine my skin's texture. Potent as it is, the Nordic birch sap provides immense calming and soothing benefits. I leave it to absorb for two minutes and then follow with a thin layer of the Dewtopia 5% Acid Firming Night Crème. This highly nourishing crème contains a high level of edelweiss stem cell extract. Finally, the Banana Bright+ Eye Crème is applied like in the morning. Now, ready for sweet dreams! View this post on Instagram A post shared by OLEHENRIKSEN (@olehenriksen) 'It has become a global best-seller for [us] because it addresses these concerns with moisture barrier building ingredients like ceramides, essential fatty acids and hyaluronic acids,' he says. 'These work synergistically to cushion, calm and comfort the skin.' However, after such a significant time in the beauty and skincare space there's one rule Ole wishes both men and women would follow more than any other: be consistent with how you treat your skin. 'Promise me to do that,' he says. 'Relax into the moment every morning by first giving yourself a big smile in the mirror and then feel the energy of your hands as you work in your products. That way, you get the greatest benefits. 'And then, of course, when you've done that, give yourself yet another smile.
