BREAKING NEWS Worker impaled on a timber post after horror fall from a roof in upmarket Melbourne suburb
A man has been rushed to hospital with critical injuries after he was impaled on a timber post in a horror workplace accident. The man, aged in his 30s, reportedly fell from the roof of a building on Irving Road in the exclusive Melbourne suburb of Toorak about 7am on Tuesday. Fire Rescue Victoria crews performed a high-angled rescue, cutting down the timber post he fell on before placing the man on a flat surface. He was rushed to The Alfred Hospital in a critical condition. 'Ambulance Victoria responded to calls to an incident in Toorak this morning at around 7:15am,' a spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia. 'A man in his 30s was transported by road to the Alfred Hospital in a critical condition after being treated for upper body injuries.' WorkSafe Victoria is investigating the incident. Daily Mail Australia has contacted WorkSafe Victoria and The Alfred for comment.

3 hospitalized, 1 critical after reported boat explosion on Vancouver Island
Three people have been hospitalized, one with critical injuries, following a reported explosion in the community of Bowser, on Vancouver Island. B.C. Emergency Health Services says they were called to the 5400 block of Deep Bay Road at 10:09 a.m. Two ground ambulances and two air ambulances responded, with one patient transported to hospital in critical condition, one in serious condition and one in stable condition.

6 people transported to hospital following shooting in Lawrence Heights, paramedics say
A Toronto police cruiser is seen in this undated photo. Six people have been taken to the hospital, including a critically injured man, following a shooting in Lawrence Heights Tuesday night. Toronto police and paramedics were called to Flemington and Zachary Roads in the area of Ranee Avenue and Allen Road just after 8:30 p.m. for a shooting. Paramedics initially told CP24 that they treated seven patients at the scene. In an update, they said a total of six people, five men and a woman between the ages of 18 and 40, were transported to the hospital. One man sustained critical injuries, while the five others have serious, possibly life-threatening injuries, paramedics said. Police have not said anything about suspects. They have setup a command post in the area of Ranee Avenue and Flemington Road. This is a breaking news story. More details to come.
