NAIROBI, May 23 (Reuters) - Kenya's shilling was stable against the dollar on Friday, data from the London Stock Exchange Group showed. At 0919 GMT, the shilling traded at 129.00/129.50 per dollar, compared to 128.95/129.45 at Thursday's close.

India's Central Bank Ready to Stabilize Rupee as Tensions Rise
India's central bank doesn't expect wild swings in the rupee but is ready to use foreign reserves to preserve currency stability as tensions with Pakistan escalate, according to people familiar with the matter. Currency market intervention could happen at the margins to iron out volatility, although the Reserve Bank of India will not target any specific level for the rupee, the people said, asking not to be identified given the sensitivity of the matter. Uganda shilling stable on subdued demand
KAMPALA, May 8 (Reuters) - The Ugandan shilling was stable against the dollar on Thursday, with hard currency demand subdued across both merchandise importers and interbank players, traders said. At 0821 GMT commercial banks quoted the shilling at 3,655/3,665, unchanged from Wednesday's close.
