Gwyneth Paltrow stars in Astronomer's clever spin post-‘Coldplaygate' fallout
Astronomer is spinning the publicity from 'Coldplaygate' in its favour. The tech company was thrust into the spotlight after its CEO and chief people officer went viral. They were caught embracing and trying to hide when captured on the jumbotron at a Coldplay concert earlier this month.
Both parties have since resigned from their positions at the company.
Taking on the adage that all publicity is good publicity, the company released a promotional video featuring Gwyneth Paltrow, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin's ex, as a temporary spokesperson.
Paltrow and Martin famously 'consciously uncoupled' in 2014 after ten years of marriage.
In the 1-minute clip posted on Astronomer's X account, the Academy Award winner says the company has hired her to answer the most common questions the company has been asked recently.
The first question, appearing on screen, reads, 'OMG! What the actual f?' To which Paltrow responds, 'Yes, Astronomer is the best place to run Apache Airflow [an open-source workflow management platform]' and that the company is 'thrilled' that so many people are interested in data workflow automation.
The next question is how the company's social media team has been holding up after the viral clip. Paltrow replies that there is still room available at the company's upcoming conference in September.
The clip ends with Paltrow saying, 'We will now be returning to what we do best: Delivering game-changing results for our customers. Thank you for your interest in Astronomer.'
