Jersey GST reclaim a 'stepping stone' to luring visitors
Jersey shops are being encouraged to sign up to a scheme allowing international visitors to claim back Goods and Services Tax (GST) on self-service kiosks have been installed at the harbour and airport for visitors to submit receipts and claim £4 in GST for every £100 spent. Liberation 80th badges given to Jersey primary school children
All primary school children in Jersey will be given a badge commemorating the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day. Issued by the Bailiff's Chambers, the design was based on the stories of islander Enid de Gruchy who was four years old when Jersey was liberated in image depicts her memory of going into St Helier on Liberation Day with her family and a soldier giving her a sweet to try for the first time. A limited number of the badges will also be available to purchase from parish halls from 22 April, with proceeds going to Age Concern Jersey. Mrs de Gruchy was born on 28 February 1941 and died in 2024. The Bailiff's Chambers said: "It was felt to be fitting to keep the legacy of her story alive in this year's logo."
