Saudi defense minister receives phone call from Iranian armed forces chief of staff
Saudi Arabia's Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman received a phone call from the Iranian Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
'During the call, they reviewed bilateral relations in the defense field and discussed regional developments as well as efforts to maintain security and stability,' the SPA report said.
Mousavi replaced Mohammad Bagheri, who was killed earlier this month in targeted Israeli strikes as part of the conflict with Iran.
The conflict between Iran and Israel ended last week after US President Donal Trump announced that they agreed to a ceasefire.
