Bihar CM Nitish Kumar allows teachers to choose preferred districts after transfer complaints
Patna, India: In response to widespread complaints regarding recent transfers of teachers in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday directed the Education Department to accommodate those seeking postings closer to home. Addressing the issue, CM Nitish posted on social media platform X, saying, 'We have received many suggestions and grievances regarding the recent inter-district transfers of government school teachers. I have instructed the Education Department to allow such teachers to select three preferred districts, and they will be posted in one of those. Posting within the district will be handled by a committee headed by the District Magistrate, to place teachers in or near their desired blocks, as far as possible. ' He urged teachers not to worry and to continue focusing on their critical role. 'Teachers are the backbone of the future generation. Among the key highlights of the directive, teachers facing issues with inter-district transfers can file complaints through the e-Shikshakosh portal. Complaints related to intra-district postings will be addressed by the District Establishment Committee, chaired by the respective DM. After review, fresh transfer and posting orders will be issued to ensure that teachers are placed as per merit and preference. The move comes after teachers from across Bihar expressed dissatisfaction with being posted in far-flung districts, affecting their personal and professional well-being. Govt orders teaching staff to add educational certificates to e-service book
Patna: The education department on Wednesday ordered its teaching staff to include their educational certificates in the e-service book maintained on the e-shikshakosh portal. The objective is to enable any official to view and check them at any level. This book will store personal and service-related information, including appointment details, promotions, transfers and academic qualifications of all categories of teachers, headmasters and librarians working in govt schools. All certificates taken during counselling of teachers and headmasters of schools whose candidate-wise folders are maintained in the respective district education office, will be scanned by the DEO and uploaded to the e-Shikshakosh. School teachers of TRE-1 and 2, and regular and appointed teachers will upload all their educational and professional certificates in PDF format to the portal using their login ID, which will be approved by the headmaster of the school concerned using their school login. Along with this, the year of passing in the certificates will also be accurately entered in the e-Shikshakosh. Resolve teacher transfer complaints by Aug 31: ACS
Patna: Additional chief secretary (ACS) of the education department, S Siddharth , on Tuesday asked district officers to complete the review of complaints related to teacher transfer postings by Aug 31. He said the entire process of transfer postings must be concluded between Sept 1 and Sept 30. A formal letter was issued by the ACS detailing the procedure for addressing transfer-related complaints submitted through the e-Shikshakosh portal. "During the process of teacher transfer postings, it must be ensured that no election-related work is obstructed, and the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India are strictly adhered to," the ACS said. District Establishment Committee, chaired by the district officer, will be responsible for reviewing complaints pertaining to both inter-district and intra-district transfer postings. In the case of inter-district transfers, the committee is required to submit a consolidated list with clear recommendations to the director of primary education. Based on these recommendations, transfer orders for inter-district postings will be issued by the director. For transfers within the same district, new posting orders will be issued following the resolution of the complaints.

Ensure minimum basic facilities in all govt schools within 15 days, ACS asks officials
Patna: Additional chief secretary (education), S Siddharth , on Friday directed all the regional deputy directors of education (RDDEs) and district education officers (DEOs) to ensure minimum basic facilities in all govt schools within 15 days under the supervision of the programme officer and block education officer. In a letter addressed to all RDDEs and DEOs, Siddharth pointed out that despite continuous efforts by the department to make govt schools well-equipped, several deficiencies were observed during various inspections. These include lack of electrification in schools, bulbs, tube lights and fans in classrooms, besides no running water facility in toilets and the same being filled with dirt, and non-utilisation of equipment used in smart classes. The department has provided schools with an amount of Rs 50,000. The DEO will ensure that this amount is available in all schools. "The DEOs have been instructed to ensure the availability of teachers in all govt schools of the state. This includes a minimum of three teachers in all govt primary schools, eight in middle schools, and at least one teacher for specific subject in secondary and higher secondary schools," Siddharth said. He further said that they would deploy teachers in these schools based on the norms through the e-Shikshakosh portal. "All regional deputy directors of education and DEOs will also review the completion of the syllabus for the half-yearly examination in all schools and ensure that the course for the half-yearly examination in all classes is completed. The officials will continuously review all districts under their division to ensure the completion of work within the stipulated time limit," he added.
