In the midst of a sustained cost-of-living crisis, indecisive customers or 'ghost shoppers' abandoning their carts at the till have become a 'consistent challenge' for online stores to solve. Figures in NZ Post's latest eCommerce Market Sentiments Report illustrate the skittish nature of online shoppers, 57 percent of whom would likely hit the exit button from an online store's checkout before completing the purchase if free returns aren't on offer, and 68 percent who have abandoned their shopping as the cost of delivery was too high.
