BDCA 2025 recognizes creative tech solutions that empower Bahrain

TDT | Manama Bahrain honored 30 pioneering digital initiatives at the 2025 Bahrain Digital Content Awards (BDCA), held under the patronage of His Excellency Ali Bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council. The ceremony, hosted by the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) in collaboration with WorkSmart, gathered leaders from government, business, and tech communities to spotlight Bahrain's growing leadership in digital transformation. Tareq Fakhroo, Chairman of BTECH, shared heartfelt praise for the winners, saying, 'Their creative and forward-thinking ideas are helping shape the future of digital innovation in Bahrain and strengthening our country's position as a hub for technology in the region.' He added that the wide variety of winning projects shows how far Bahrain has come in both its service and production sectors. 'These 30 projects highlight a dynamic and growing digital landscape,' Fakhroo said, 'and they play a big role in helping us move closer to the goals set out in Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030.' Speaking at the ceremony, Ahmed Al Hujairy, Chairman of the BDCA Awards, expressed his joy in celebrating this year's winners. 'It's truly inspiring to see so many innovative and future-focused projects being recognised,' he said. 'These initiatives stood out for offering smart, practical, and scalable digital solutions that align with global trends. We're proud to have had a panel of local and international experts carefully evaluate all entries and select the best.' Spotlight on the Winners In the Government and Citizen Engagement category, four groundbreaking public service solutions were honored. These included the eShabab mobile app by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the official website of Government Hospitals, the Virtual Customer Service Center from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, and the AI-Driven Drug Addiction Recovery System developed by the Ministry of Interior. For their commitment to inclusive technology, winners in the Inclusion and Empowerment category included the ATTA App by the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, the Shura Council's website, the MP Portal by the Council of Representatives, and the Smart Inspection System (SI) by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority. In the field of urban transformation, Smart Settlements and Urbanization winners impressed with citizen-centric platforms like the Property Check system by the Survey and Land Registration Bureau and the Electricity Consumption Dashboard developed by the HH Shaikh Nasser AI R&D Center. Commerce and innovation went hand in hand in the Business and Commerce category. Recognised for their impact were Tijara by Bahrain Development Bank, Hadeya (E-Gift) by The BENEFIT Company, the Sahel App by Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company, and Flight Operations Hub by Gulf Air Group. The digital celebration of culture was evident in the Culture and Heritage winners: Travelage Platform by Travilege Solutions and Water Taxi Booking App by Urbansoft Technologies. The future of education was front and center in the Learning and Education category, with winners like Maryam AI Learning Assistant by Gulf University, AI-Powered Talent Platform by Lumofy, Teacherless AI Classroom by the HH Shaikh Nasser AI R&D Center, and the BBS Parents App from Bahrain Bayan School. For their strides in sustainability, the Environment and Green Energy category applauded the ML Platform by the HH Shaikh Nasser AI Center and the Beyon Green Energy Program by Beyon. In health tech, the Health and Wellbeing category awarded Participant Registration Solution and Organ Donation Services by the Ministry of Health, and the Digital Health Care Platform by Ideas Technology W.L.L. The media world also had its share of trailblazers. In the Media and E-Information category, 's Digital Ad Robot, BraveCF TV by BRAVE Combat Federation, and albilad newspaper's website were celebrated for pushing digital boundaries in content and engagement. Finally, the AI-Driven Business Content category recognized DOO for its Multilingual AI-Powered Customer Experience Platform, showcasing Bahrain's growing role in intelligent business solutions. Award Chairman Mr. Ahmed Al Hujairy summed it up best: 'These projects are not just award-winners; they are blueprints for Bahrain's future in digital excellence. We hope they inspire others to innovate, scale, and lead.' The Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH), in strategic partnership with WorkSmart for Events Management, hosted the Bahrain Digital Content Award (BDCA) 2025 ceremony with the presence and in the presence of His Excellency Ali Bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman Shura Council. The prestigious event gathered dignitaries, senior officials, and representatives from both governmental institutions and private sector organisations. A total of 30 pioneering digital initiatives were recognised as winners across eleven diverse categories, showcasing Bahrain's growing leadership in digital innovation. In the Government and Citizen Engagement category, four transformative government projects were awarded: the eShabab mobile application developed by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the official Government Hospitals website, the Virtual Customer Service Center from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, and the Nationwide AI-Driven Drug Addiction Recovery and Policy Optimization System launched by the Ministry of Interior. In the Inclusion and Empowerment category, the ATTA Mobile App from the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) was among the winners, along with the Shura Council's official website, the MP Portal developed by the Council of Representatives, and the Smart Inspection System (SI) introduced by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority. Under the Smart Settlements and Urbanization category, accolades were given to the Property Check platform from the Survey and Land Registration Bureau and the Electricity Consumption Dashboard by the HH Shaikh Nasser AI Research and Development Center, both of which provide advanced, citizen-centric services using modern technologies. Winners in the Business and Commerce category included the Tijara platform by the Bahrain Development Bank, Hadeya (E-gift) feature by The BENEFIT Company, the Sahel App developed by Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company, and the Flight Operations Hub from Gulf Air Group, each of which has made a significant impact on commerce and user experience in Bahrain. In the Culture and Heritage category, the award recognised Travilege Platform by Travilege Solutions and the Water Taxi Booking Application by Urbansoft Technologies Middle East WLL, both contributing to the preservation and enhancement of cultural experiences through digital tools. The Learning and Education category honoured the Maryam AI Learning Assistant from Gulf University, the AI-Powered Talent Management Platform by Lumofy W.L.L, the Teacherless AI Classroom by the HH Shaikh Nasser AI Research and Development Center, and the BBS Parents App by Bahrain Bayan School. In the Environment and Green Energy category, two initiatives stood out: the ML Platform developed by the HH Shaikh Nasser AI Research and Development Center, and the Beyon Green Energy Program launched by Beyon, both contributing to sustainable development through advanced technologies. The Health and Wellbeing category awarded three projects: the Participant Registration Solution and Organ Donation Services, both introduced by the Ministry of Health, and the Digital Health Care Platform developed by ideas Technology W.L.L, reflecting progress in digital healthcare access and innovation. In the Media and E-Information category, the award was shared among for its Digital Ad Robot, BraveCF TV by BRAVE Combat Federation, and the albilad newspaper website developed by albilad newspaper, all of which are redefining digital media engagement in Bahrain. Finally, the AI-Driven Business Content category recognised DOO for its Multilingual AI-Powered Customer Experience Platform, which exemplifies the use of intelligent content solutions in enhancing customer interaction. Minister Tawfiqi emphasised that the initiative aligns with Bahrain's national strategy for digital transformation and aims to enhance government service efficiency and user experience. The new website serves as an interactive platform for youth engagement, offering easier access to information and youth initiatives through a secure and advanced digital environment, she added. The platform features a responsive and user-friendly design, compatible with all devices, particularly smart ones, and is operated via a modern content management system. Developed in line with international standards such as W3C and WCAG, it is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Key features include sections on youth initiatives, e-services, youth centres, a media centre, and a public communication channel. The site is integrated with the eShabab app to streamline access, reduce data duplication, and provide a unified login system.

Youth Affairs Ministry launches commemorative stamp design competition for Bahrain Youth Day

The Youth Affairs Ministry, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bahrain, has launched a national competition to design and issue a commemorative postage stamp in celebration of Bahrain Youth Day. The initiative aims to highlight the creativity of Bahrain youth through a stamp design that reflects their aspirations and achievements. It also underscores the importance of strategic partnerships between government institutions and international organisations in providing platforms for young talents to express their ideas and innovations in design. The competition offers young artists and designers the opportunity to showcase their vision of Bahrain Youth Day through contemporary and innovative designs that capture national values and identity. It serves as a platform for creative expression, enabling youth to contribute to national celebrations in a meaningful way. Participation is open to Bahraini nationals aged 18 to 35, with designs required to be original and submitted individually or in teams of up to two participants. Companies are not eligible to participate. The designs must be innovative, high-quality, and aligned with the technical specifications outlined on the 'eShabab' app. A prize of BHD 500 will be awarded for the best design. The ministry encouraged young Bahraini artists and creatives to seize this unique opportunity to showcase their talents on a national scale and contribute to the country's artistic and cultural landscape.
