Walpole Island assault leads to arrest: OPP

On Wednesday just before 2:30 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault at the intersection of Old Ferry Road and Union Hall Road. OPP and Walpole said the victim was assaulted with an 'edged weapon' and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was found in a home nearby and arrested. A 30-year-old Walpole Island First Nation man has been charged with:

Man sent to hospital after injured with edged weapon in Waterloo
Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a disturbance in Waterloo after a man was injured early Monday. At around 3 a.m., police said they were called to a home near Wissler Road. They said when officers arrived, they found a man who was injured from an edged weapon. The man was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said they believe the suspect and victim know each other. Police are asking anyone with information or video of the incident to call them at 519-570-9777, extension 6370.
