Hong Kong and UAE Strengthen Trade Ties Through Major Trade Fairs in October 2025
Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continue to enjoy strong bilateral trade across various industries. Supporting this relationship, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is launching a series of major initiatives to help UAE companies explore new markets and opportunities. Four International Trade Fairs to Watch Mr. Daniel Lam, Regional Director for the Middle East and Africa at HKTDC, announced that four major trade fairs will take place this October in Hong Kong. These events are designed to serve as strategic platforms for UAE businesses looking to expand globally: Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition): 13–16 October 2025 electronicAsia: 13–16 October 2025 Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition): 27–30 October 2025 Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo: 28–31 October 2025 These exhibitions will bring together thousands of exhibitors and industry professionals from around the world, offering unmatched networking and business development opportunities. As of November 2024, the UAE ranked as Hong Kong's 11th largest trading partner, with total trade valued at over USD 14.8 billion. The UAE was Hong Kong's 6th biggest export market and 17th largest import source, reflecting a well-established trade relationship. Hong Kong Tech Pavilions at GITEX and Expand North Star HKTDC, in partnership with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), will also host the Hong Kong Tech Pavilions at two major Dubai tech events: GITEX Global 2025: 13–17 October Expand North Star 2025: 12–15 October More than 20 innovative Hong Kong tech companies will be featured, aiming to attract global investors and forge new partnerships in the Middle East. In 2024, these fairs hosted over 3,200 exhibitors from 19 countries and attracted more than 60,000 buyers from 136 countries.
