Tougen Anki – Season 1 Episode 3 Recap & Review

Blood Eclipse Release Episode 3 of Tougen Anki continues from the Oni Tag that Naito has initiated for the Oni students. Their goal is to return to the school without getting caught by Naito. He divides them into teams—sending Shiki, a shy girl named Homare, and Shiki's supposed rival, Jin, to go first. Once inside the forest enclosure, Jin and Shiki end up in a fight, trying to battle it out. Shiki is shocked by Jin's ability to manipulate his blood into chainsaw blades. Meanwhile, Naito, observing the group from afar, is impressed by Jin's ability to draw two different types of weapons. As much as Shiki tries, however, he's unable to summon his blood shotgun again. That's when the quiet and awkward Homare arrives, just as Jin attacks Shiki using his Blood Eclipse Release. Shiki barely manages to save Homare from the assault. Seeing Shiki's wounds from trying to protect her, Homare enters a traumatic state. She unexpectedly unleashes her own Blood Eclipse Release, summoning a massive blood giant that begins attacking both Shiki and Jin with fatal force. They soon realize that the giant is trying to protect Homare, yet its behavior is wild and uncontrollable. Meanwhile, Naito continues to observe. He is joined by the principal, who reflects on the history of how Oni children were once killed or experimented on simply because of their ability to manipulate blood—a technique now known as Blood Eclipse Release. Just when it seems like Naito may have to intervene, Shiki finally understands the key to unlocking the technique: the strength of the image of the weapon they want to form from their blood. With this realization, he successfully manifests a massive shotgun and fires at the blood giant. Both Jin and Naito watch in shock as Tougen Anki Episode 3 comes to a close. The Episode Review Tougen Anki keeps getting better with each episode, delivering new and thrilling action sequences that keep us hooked. While the storytelling could have been tighter, this episode offers a deeper glimpse into the social stigma and dark past of experimentation on Oni children. The anime clearly aims to portray the Oni as a wronged and discriminated group, almost like a story told from the villains' side in My Hero Academia. It's also fascinating how the Blood Eclipse Release technique is shown to be deeply psychosomatic, reflecting each character's inner world. This creative storytelling gives us a peek into every character's personality, trauma, and worldview, just through the weapons they shape their blood into. For instance: A shotgun for Shiki, who's a bit over-the-top and impulsive. Blades for Jin, a sharp yet quietly intense character. A stylish umbrella for Naito, reflecting his sophisticated fighting style. And a defensive, rogue blood giant for Homare, hinting at her traumatic past and overwhelming need for protection. Satechi's new SSD enclosure matches the Mac Mini

Satechi has announced a new SSD enclosure with an aluminum design that matches the black and silver finish and dimensions of Apple's Mac Mini M4, but thinner so it can perch atop the tiny desktop computer or be used as a matching stand. But since it connects using an included braided USB-C cable, the enclosure is compatible with any device that supports external storage drives. The USB4 Slim NVMe SSD Enclosure looks familiar to Satechi's Mac Mini M4 Stand & Hub that launched last January for $99.99, but is $20 more expensive at $119.99, available now through its online store. Both can be used to expand the storage of the Mac Mini M4 using an SSD, but while the Stand & Hub accessory offers slightly more functionality with extra USB ports and an SD card reader, Satechi's new enclosure offers much faster transfer speeds. The enclosure is compatible with all but the largest NVMe SSD sizes — 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280 — and supports capacities ranging from 1TB to 8TB. Satechi's Stand & Hub offers transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps, but the USB4 Slim NVMe SSD Enclosure pushes that to 40Gbps, assuming the device you're connecting to also supports USB4. If it doesn't, the enclosure is backwards compatible, and you'll just see slower transfer speeds. You can insert an SSD by removing the bottom of the enclosure after giving it a short twist, which also reveals a storage compartment for the short included USB-C cable. Its minimalist design also integrates a thermal pad and cooling vents to 'maintain peak performance without thermal throttling.'

Zoo animals to get more space in 'long overdue' welfare reforms

Zoos will be legally required to give animals more enclosure space as "long overdue" animal welfare reforms come into Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) said new standards published on Saturday would modernise British zoo practices for the first time in over a the changes, elephants must be given larger habitats and the legislation will bring an end to practices like the long-term tethering of birds of prey and letting visitors touch fish and cephalopods such as rays and Christon, chief executive of Chester Zoo, told the BBC he welcomed the changes, and the process of rolling them out had already begun. Zoos and aquariums will face a two-year timeline to adapt to the changes, which will also require them to improve conservation standards and safety measures when keeping dangerous Christon said the zoo had been working with Defra to develop the reforms and they were not a "major surprise". "These standards have been delayed for the last two years, really, as a result of changing governments", Mr Christon said. "That's meant that zoos haven't been able to invest, and now that we'll be able to get the standards out there, all 196 pages of them." 'First step' Chester Zoo has already planned to increase the size of its elephant enclosure. Animal welfare minister Baroness Hayman said the move was the "first step" in the government's plan to deliver the "most ambitious welfare reforms in a generation".She said: "We are a nation of animal lovers, and our best zoos and aquariums are truly world leaders in setting the standard for how wild animals should be kept."Today's long-overdue reforms lay the foundation for an even stronger, even more compassionate future for all zoos and aquariums - and the animals they protect."Dr Jo Judge, CEO of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums, which represents over 130 zoos and aquariums, said its members have been "working closely" with Defra officials to meet the updated standards."The new standards are a significant step up in legal requirements and cement Britain's position as a global leader for zoos and aquariums", she said.
