UFC 315 results: Aiemann Zahabi rallies to defeat retiring Jose Aldo in wild brawl
UFC 315 results: Aiemann Zahabi rallies to defeat retiring Jose Aldo in wild brawl Jose Aldo has announced his retirement from MMA after #UFC315. One of the greatest of all time 👏 — ESPN MMA (@espnmma) May 11, 2025 Aiemann Zahabi went to war with Jose Aldo in what appears to be the Brazilian's final fight. Zahabi (13-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) survived a late scare and turned the tables on Aldo (32-10 MMA, 14-9 UFC) to win a competitive unanimous decision. The featherweight bout was part of the UFC 315 main card at Bell Centre in Montreal. Aldo put the pressure on Zahabi from the start in what was mostly a feeling-out process. The former champion found success ripping into Zahabi's body. In the second half of the round, Zahabi started to make reads, backing Aldo with a combination. Aldo fired back to the body, with the pace picking up as the round came to a close. Zahabi kicked off Round 2 with a big knee to Aldo's body as he started pressing the action. Aldo pumped out his jab as he opened a cut on Zahabi's eye. A couple of accidental low blows from Zahabi caused a brief pause in the action. Zahabi landed a big right to close out the round. Aldo threw aggressively to begin Round 3. He continued to attack the body as Zahabi fired back with a combination to the head. Aldo landed a big knee followed by a head kick, which dropped Zahabi and had him badly hurt. Zahabi survived and started throwing heavy on an exhausted Aldo. Aldo shot for a takedown but was shucked off. Zahabi got in top control, landing heavy elbows and punches to cut Aldo open for a wild finish to the fight. Aldo struggled to make bantamweight, causing the fight to move to 145 pounds. He took off his gloves after the loss and announced that he plans on retiring. "The King of Rio" declared that he doesn't have it in him anymore. Up-to-the-minute UFC 315 results include:
