See it: Giants' Brian Daboll FaceTimes LeSean McCoy, Tyrone Tracy on live TV

New York Giants second-year running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. has been making the rounds on the sports talk circuit recently, and got a surprise when his head coach, Brian Daboll, called into one of the shows he was appearing on. Tracy was a guest on FOX Sports 1's The Facility with former Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy and ex-Giants wide receiver James Jones this week. The subject turned to what it is like to play for Daboll. While Tracy was into his explanation, Daboll rang McCoy's cell phone. Here's how it went: Tracy, a fifth-round pick out of Purdue last season, totaled 1,123 yards from scrimmage as a rookie (839 rushing + 284 receiving) and scored six touchdowns.

Giants' new star pays tribute to FOX NFL Sunday's Michael Strahan after draft selection

Cam Skattebo may not have had the spotlight moment shaking Roger Goodell's hand on a glitzy stage, but he still marked his NFL Draft day in memorable fashion, paying homage to the city that snapped him up. It came as the Cleveland Browns selected Shedeur Sanders after a historic slide, although his father Deion might not be a fan of the ex-Colorado QB's landing spot . The tenacious Arizona State running back took to social media , donning a classic Michael Strahan jersey for a mirror selfie, complete with an iced-out chain and a spanking new New York Giants cap. Skattebo's post, "You know what it is," accompanied his celebratory snap as he proudly posed in Giants colors following his fourth-round , No. 105 overall pick. The Giants' online crew gave a shoutout to Strahan as they shared the post. Skattebo's draft pick was more than just a selection; it was the fulfillment of a prophecy he made back in April 2021 when he declared that he would make it to the draft one day. Despite being a Super Bowl victor, Hall of Famer, and seven-time Pro Bowler, Strahan's recent social media silence since March did little to shield him from Giants supporters venting residual bitterness stemming from his open backing of NFC East rivals the Philadelphia Eagles and ex-Giants sensation Saquon Barkley during Super Bowl LIX. "He needs to take the traitor's number off his back," blasted one irate fan online. Others joined the chorus of disapproval, with one writing, "We don't claim Strahan anymore." Another one said, "Strahan getting cooked in this comment section. Deservingly so." The groundswell of resentment comes after a notable moment in February when Strahan brandished an Eagles flag during a pre-Super Bowl interview, igniting the fury of fans who watched Philly triumph over the Chiefs. On 'Good Morning America' last Thursday, Strahan received an Eagles green jersey complete with No. 25 and his own name on it as a gift. The former Giant merely laughed and crumpled it up before chucking it across the set to the evident delight of co-host Robin Roberts and fellow GMA staff. "All I can say is 'You Wish,'" retorted Strahan, before he nonchalantly tossed away the presented jersey. To Strahan, it may have been all in jest, but the act didn't sit well with Giants die-hards whose allegiances were already tested. Meanwhile, Skattebo's arrival continued a strong draft for the Giants. New York stirred up the sports community with their draft picks, first taking Penn State's promising edge rusher Abdul Carter third overall. Then, adding to the buzz, they made a surprise move that sent shockwaves through the draft sphere: they overlooked Colorado's Shedeur Sanders in favor of Ole Miss quarterback Jaxon Dart for the coveted No. 25 pick. On the third day of the draft, New York beefed up their line-up with Toledo defensive tackle Darius Alexander, Purdue offensive guard Marcus Mbow, and Nebraska tight end Thomas Fidone II.

What Anthony Richardson wants to ‘learn' from Daniel Jones in Colts QB competition

Anthony Richardson is ready to be a sponge as he absorbs it all from his new teammate and competition, ex-Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. Speaking Tuesday as the Colts' offseason program got underway, the third-year quarterback expressed excitement about getting to work with Jones, 27, who is also vying for the starting job after agreeing to a one-year, $14 million deal with the team in free agency. 'The main thing I want to learn from him is how to navigate the pressure of everything, how to navigate when things aren't going the best how you stay with it and stay focused and just keep grinding, and also how to work,' Richardson said, according to the Colts' website. 'That's just how life works, you just gotta compete and get better because somebody to the right, left or in front of you is trying to out-work you and be better than you. Competition, I love it,' he said. In his final season with the Giants, Jones threw for 2,070 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions while Richardson tossed for 1,814 yards, eight touchdowns and 12 interceptions through 11 games in 2024.

Shedeur Sanders on Giants: 'We have a great relationship'

It's that time of year in the NFL when clubs begin their recon and courting of this year's draft-eligible players. The New York Giants, who hold the third overall selection this April and are in the market for a quarterback, are out in full force and hitting all of the college all-star games. This week, they were down in Arlington, Texas -- the site of this year's East-West Shrine Bowl -- and met with one of the top quarterback prospects in Colorado's Shedeur Sanders. Sanders, who also met with the Tennessee Titans, holders of the top overall pick this year, had good things to say about his dealings with the Giants. From Garrett Podell of CBS Sports: Sanders, who will not participate in the game or the practices leading up to it, was in town simply to meet with NFL teams who might be interested in him. And there are plenty of those. Much like his famous father and coach, Deion, Shedeur is not short on confidence. "I just know I'm going to change a franchise and be happy to be the leader of a team," he said. The Giants aren't just searching for a quarterback this spring. They are searching for a leader and a new face of the franchise. So far, he seems willing to take that on. 6 ex-Giants will compete in Super Bowl LIX Unlikely player named a free agent Giants 'can't afford to lose' Saquon Barkley celebrates Giants' 100th season by carrying Eagles to Super Bowl This article originally appeared on Giants Wire: Shedeur Sanders on Giants: 'We have a great relationship'
