New York Giants second-year running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. has been making the rounds on the sports talk circuit recently, and got a surprise when his head coach, Brian Daboll, called into one of the shows he was appearing on.
Tracy was a guest on FOX Sports 1's The Facility with former Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy and ex-Giants wide receiver James Jones this week. The subject turned to what it is like to play for Daboll.
While Tracy was into his explanation, Daboll rang McCoy's cell phone.
Here's how it went:
Tracy, a fifth-round pick out of Purdue last season, totaled 1,123 yards from scrimmage as a rookie (839 rushing + 284 receiving) and scored six touchdowns.

Jalin Hyatt packs on more than 20 pounds
Receiver Jalin Hyatt has yet to move the needle in the NFL. As he prepares for his all-important third NFL season, he has moved the needle on the scale. Considerably. Hyatt has packed on more than 20 pounds this offseason, in an effort to perform better against the big boys. 'I played at like 170, 171 last year, I'm about 194, 195 now,' Hyatt recently told the Giants Huddle podcast, via 'I'm telling you, that's what darkness does to you. It changes you.' Hyatt believes the extra weight won't impact the 4.4 speed that helped make him a third-round pick in 2023. 'Speed will stay there, but for me it's just learning to run at this weight, learning to play faster, play bigger, play stronger through contact,' Hyatt said. 'I felt like that was one of the things that I needed to work on from last season, just felt weak. So I just had to get stronger.' Hyatt also said he hopes to move around more in 2025, sliding from the outside to the slot. Something needs to change. After catching 23 passes for 373 yards as a rookie, Hyatt's production slipped dramatically in 2024. Despite appearing in 16 games, he caught only eight passes for 62 yards. The top receivers on the Giants' depth chart are Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, and WanDale Robinson. Hyatt surely hopes to disrupt that. He also surely hopes to preserve his spot on the roster and/or lay the foundation for his future in New York. Otherwise, he'll likely be trying to lay the foundation for a future elsewhere.

Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce on the identity of the next great Boston Celtics team
What will be the identity of the next great Boston Celtics team? The Celtics are currently in the midst of retooling their roster on the fly this offseason, making moves to cut salary without losing too much salary in the process. Now under the NBA's dreaded second apron, Boston has added talent to the team on the offensive end in former Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons and ex-Atlanta Hawks backup forward Georges Niang. Niang is not known for his defensive chops at age 32 so much as his perimeter shooting, and Simons, an especially good shot from beyond the arc, is known to be a poor defender. Will Boston's next contender identity keep leaning into offense, or are these moves a temporary shift in team dynamic? Few people are better positioned to talk about the identity of a Celtics contender than Hall of Fame champion Boston forwards Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, who weighed in on these questions on a recent episode of their 'Ticket and the Truth' podcast. Check it out below!

New York Giants alternate universe: Passing on Kadarius Toney in 2021 NFL draft
During the 2021 NFL draft, in a shocking turn of events, New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman traded back from pick No. 11 to No. 20 in a swap with the Bears that landed quarterback Justin Fields in Chicago. The selection of wide receiver Kadarius Toney at pick No. 20 that followed was one of the more regrettable picks in recent memory for the Giants. Bleacher Report recently released a list re-drafting every team's worst pick over the last five years, and in this alternate universe, the Giants had a chance for a do-over. Instead of Toney, they selected offensive lineman Christian Darrisaw. Original Pick: WR Kadarius Toney at No. 20 (2021) This one was a bit of a toss-up between offensive lineman Evan Neal (2022) and Toney, but Neal is at least still on the roster and will likely play out his rookie contract with the Giants. Meanwhile, Toney played in just 12 games for New York, making five starts and posting a stat line of 41 catches, 420 yards and three touchdowns. The wideout was traded in October of his second season and won a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs, but he wasn't a major factor in the Chiefs offense and is currently not on an NFL roster. New Pick: OT Christian Darrisaw (originally 23rd by the Minnesota Vikings) The rationale for the new pick here is the domino effect it would have created. With Andrew Thomas and Darrisaw at offensive tackle, the Giants wouldn't have taken Neal at No. 7 the following year and then, essentially, would be able to exchange Toney for Drake London, Garrett Wilson or Chris Olave. Toney most certainly had the talent to be a contributor on an NFL team, both as a wide receiver and as a returner. Still, he was too much of a headache and did not complete his sophomore season before the Giants parted ways. Toney won two Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs. He also spent time with the Cleveland Browns, where his tenure is somewhat comical as he was elevated to the active roster for one game, where he muffed a punt and was called for a taunting penalty before his release days later. Subbing Darrisaw in place of Toney would have given the Giants two really nice pieces at tackle. It's interesting to think about the possibility of the Giants having a formidable offensive line while they still had Saquon Barkley on the roster.
