1 dead after Jeep crashes into canal near Lost Hills
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal wreck that took place Monday evening. The driver of a 2018 Jeep Compass has died after veering off the southbound lanes of Interstate 5, near Highway 46, and crashing into a dry canal, according to CHP. Officers received reports of the crash at about 6:20 p.m. Verdict reached in trial of ex-Kern deputy charged with sex crimes The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene, officers said. Alcohol does appear to be a factor in this wreck, according to CHP. The identity of the driver will be released later through the Kern County Coroner at a later date. KGET's Flag Day happening June 13
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — KGET is partnering with the Bakersfield Young Marines to collect flags to retire ahead of Flag Day and in turn, participants can receive a new one. Participants can drop their flags at KGET studios from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The drop-off location is 2120 L Street, in downtown Bakersfield.
