But opponents claimed even at £14, the memoir was 'still terrible value for money'.
And early buyers have given it a series of one-star reviews.
A Scottish Labour spokesperson said: 'It appears that Frankly is heading in the same way as Nicola Sturgeon's political career — downwards.'
Scottish Tory MSP Annie Wells piled in: 'If you are looking for any answers on the ferries fiasco, drugs deaths crisis or educational attainment gap, this book probably isn't for you.
'Even at half price, her self-indulgent autobiography is still terrible value for money.'
A fan on Amazon called it 'a stunning piece of work'.
But ex-Scottish Sun political editor Andy Nicoll criticised Ms Sturgeon's 'vanity and self-justification'.
In The Independent, he said Frankly was much better than Alex Salmond's bio — which he described as 'probably the worst political memoir ever written'.
And Harry Potter author JK Rowling branded Ms Sturgeon a 'f***wit'.
The writer penned her own review of the book , which included foul-mouthed feedback about her time in office.

Ms Rowling - a vocal critic of Ms Sturgeon over her gender self-ID bid - delivered a furious takedown of Ms Sturgeon over the scandal of male-bodied trans double-rapist Isla Bryson, previously known as Adam Graham, being sent to Cornton Vale prison in January 2023.
Frankly is packed full of personal admissions and bombshells from some of the most infamous moments in her political career.
But following the title's release, Ms Sturgeon has told how she has experienced rape taunts and abuse about her miscarriage.

IMAGINE shelling out £28 for a book then finding out the following day that it's been slashed to £14.
For lots of Nicola Sturgeon fans, that's exactly what's happened with her memoir, which is already being sold at half price.
That must be a sore one for her fans who coughed up the full whack.
Meanwhile, the rest of Scotland is still paying the price for her years of failure.
The former SNP leader blamed critics of her gender self-ID push as she spoke to an audience on Thursday at her official book launch in Edinburgh.
The ex-First Minister was contacted for comment.
