Marvel's Evangeline Lilly says she had ‘hole punctured into face' after fainting
Marvel star Evangeline Lilly has said she had a 'hole punctured into my face' after she fainted and 'fell face first into a boulder'. The Canadian actress and author, who is known for her roles in TV series Lost and Marvel films Ant-Man (2015) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), shared photos online that showed a scab above her top lip and marks on her nose and chin. Advertisement In an Instagram post, she said: 'I fainted at the beach. And fell face first into a boulder. 'At the hospital, the nurses and doctor went straight into action, more determined to find the cause of my blackout than to stitch up the hole punctured into my face by the rock.' The 45-year-old said in a Substack post that she had had fainting spells 'since I was a little girl' which had been put down to hypoglycemia, also known as low blood sugar. She also said that she had 'blacked out' on the way to the hospital, as well as on the beach. 'Lost' star Evangeline Lilly suffers injury from fainting on beach
Evangeline Lilly's trip to the beach took an unexpected turn when she landed in the hospital. The Marvel actress took to social media to share photos of her bloodied face after she fainted and suffered injuries to her face. "I fainted at the beach. And fell face first into a boulder," Lilly, 45, wrote on her Substack. "At the hospital, the nurses and doctor went straight into action, more determined to find the cause of my blackout than to stitch up the hole punctured into my face by the rock." In a photo she posted to Instagram, the "Lost" actress was seen with dried blood around her nose. In a second picture, she slightly lifted her head and opened her mouth to show her swollen lip with a few injuries on her chin. Lilly appeared to be in good spirits as she found some humor in her hospital visit. She explained that when doctors examined her, she said, "I smiled wryly at them. 'You won't find anything.' I said with a woozy voice..." The "Ant-Man" actress detailed more of her health history, revealing that she's had "absent" and "fainting spells" since childhood. "The doctors checked me for epilepsy when I was young and then settled on the idea of hypoglycemia (without doing any testing)," she wrote. After numerous trips to the doctor's office as well as multiple blood tests, Lilly said that the doctors couldn't determine her diagnosis. "What was interesting was how, even after a 12-hour fast, even after blacking out, my glucose levels never came back as low. Hypoglycemia, it seemed, was being ruled out." However, Lilly has been told by medical professionals these blackout episodes may be common. "I am not the only person who has blackout episodes that are not explained. The nurse who was tending me in the hospital told me that most patients with this issue are never given a medical answer as to why they blackout. Not with heart monitors, glucose monitors nor blood tests. They just have to live in the mystery of not knowing." She added that her partner had addressed his concerns and described his reaction when she had unexplained "blackout episodes." "My partner says that when I black out, I look like I die. He gets very afraid. My eyes roll back in my head and all life leaves my body. He is constantly checking my nose and mouth for breath. This time was no exception. He wasn't with me at the beach, but on the way to the hospital I blacked out again." The Hollywood actress concluded her post and wondered if there's a spiritual purpose to her out-of-body experiences. "Do you think a soul can leave a body and return? Do you think we have a soul?" Lilly's injury comes after her decision to step away from Hollywood. Last June, Lilly shared on Instagram that "I am so filled with joy and contentment today as I live out my vision. Praise God, I feel so grateful for my blessings. "Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times, but stepping into your dharma replaces the fear with fulfillment. I might return to Hollywood one day, but, for now, this is where I belong. A new season has arrived, and I AM READY... and I AM HAPPY." Lilly had previously thought about leaving Hollywood for good. Following her time on "Lost," she said that director Peter Jackson had to lure her into playing Tauriel in "The Hobbit."

Evangeline Lilly, 45, who shot to fame as Kate Austen in the ABC drama series Lost, was at the beach when she suffered a fall. 5 5 5 The Ant-Man star revealed her accident and subsequent hospital dash when she uploaded a post onto her Instagram page on Friday. Sharing a slew of snaps where she looked blooded and bruised, Evangeline told her fans how she had fainted while enjoying a day at the beach. Fainting and falling face-first into a boulder, Evangeline - who is known for her work in Marvel movies - was then rushed to hospital. Alongside the selection of graphic snaps showcasing her injuries, the TV actress revealed all. "I fainted at the beach. And fell face first into a boulder," she explained. She continued: "At the hospital, the nurses and doctor went straight into action, more determined to find the cause of my blackout than to stitch up the hole punctured into my face by the rock. She then wrote more about the ordeal in a Substack post where she detailed "absent" and "fainting spells" since she was little. Evangeline even revealed how she was checked for epilepsy before the doctors settling for a diagnosis of hypoglycemia without doing any tests. "For a good chunk of my life, I went with that – hypoglycemia. It added up — my metabolism is through the roof and I metabolize sugars, particularly, with [shocking] efficiency," she explained, as per Us Weekly. The actress then said that the cause of her blackouts remain a mystery. She went on: "I have come to believe that this 'checking out' is a result of my little soul reaching her limit of what she feels she can cope with in this life, and she 'leaves the building,' so to speak." Evangeline later penned: "That when she has had enough, when the pain becomes too great, the stresses beyond overwhelming, the shattered idealism crushing, my soul exits my body and returns to pure spirit." Fans flocked to the Instagram post, which promoted her full Substack post, to share their well wishes with Evangeline. "Oh my goodness Evangeline! I am sending you all of the healing energy in the world. Take it easy! We're all here for you," penned one. Another added: "Thank you so much for talking about this. Thinking of you." And a third wrote: "Hope you're feeling better and heal up quickly inside and out." Underneath the post, Lilly penned: "Thank you all for your beautiful well wishes." Evangeline's hospital dash and health update comes after she announced she was retiring from acting. Last year, after 20 years on screen, Evangeline said: "I am so filled with joy and contentment today as I live out my vision. "Praise God, I feel so grateful for my blessings. Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times, but stepping into your dharma replaces the fear with fulfillment." Kinsey - who had been Fox News @ Night when she suffered the scare - said she is now 'doing well' in a post to X. 'Wow, sorry for the scare last night,' the former Donald Trump staffer began, before thanking those at Fox and the EMTs who rushed to her aide. '[They all] responded with such speed and care,' the 24-year-old internet personality said. Kinsey called the still-unexplained episode 'unexpected and frightening', while also thanking those who have shown her 'professionalism and kindness'. ' To everyone who has called, texted, prayed, or checked in, thank you from the bottom of my heart,' she wrote, adding, 'Your support has meant the world.' 'I'm taking it slow, staying hydrated, letting my body rest, and thanking the Lord that everything is okay,' Kinsey continued, before cutting the tension with a joke. 'It may not have been how I planned to end the segment, but I'll be back on your TV soon. Hopefully long enough to finally finish my point about Kamala!' 'I'm forgetting my words,' he said on stage at the 112th New York Young Republicans Club Gala in December, before freezing for a moment and falling to the side. The crowd responded with gasps as others rushed to his aide. The incident was dismissed at the time as 'a brief fainting spell.' 'I know that Alex is going to be fine because he's a tough son of a gun,' Kinsey's old boss, Trump, said at the time, labeling Bruesewitz 'a very special guy.'
