Former Pakistani official accuses India of conducting false flag operation in Pahalgam
Raoof Hasan, former special assistant to ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan, has accused India of conducting a false flag operation in Pahalgam, where a terror attack killed 26 civilians last month.
In an interview on GNT presented by Al Arabiya English's Tom Burges Watson on Thursday, Hasan said the operation was aimed at destabilizing Pakistan.
'They wanted to do this. They wanted it to destabilize Pakistan. They wanted to accuse Pakistan of things that we're not responsible for,' he said.
The Pahalgam attack was a false flag operation aimed at destabilizing #Pakistan, says @RaoofHasan, former special assistant to ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan. He says #India refused to provide credible evidence or agree to an independent investigation before blaming Pakistan. #GNT

India had blamed Pakistan for the attack, and launched missile strikes Wednesday on what it called 'terrorist infrastructure' in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Hasan called the strikes 'totally unprovoked.'
He categorically denied any claims of Pakistan's involvement in the Pahalgam attack, saying India should have agreed to conducting a transparent investigation before retaliating.
'When Pahalgam happened, there were two things that India should have listened to. Number one, we wanted some credible evidence that they could have presented to us or to the international community regarding Pakistan's involvement. Or they could have joined an independent, transparent investigation into the incident,' the former official added.
Hasan said India refused to provide any credible evidence while accusing Pakistan of involvement in the incident.
'Pakistan was accused within ten minutes of the incident happening. Is ten minutes enough time for any country to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the details of the incident and those people that were involved? Absolutely not,' said Hasan.
