Motoring influencer, brother get month's jail, fine over faked disappearance

PETALING JAYA : A motoring influencer who faked his own disappearance, and his younger brother, who filed a false report over the incident, have been sentenced to one month's jail and fined RM1,500 each at the magistrates' court in Muar.
Tengku Nizaruddin Tengku Zainudin, 38, and Tengku Abdul Aziz, 30 pleaded guilty after a court translator read the charges to them before magistrate Suzana Mokhtar, Kosmo reported.
Suzana also ordered Tengku Nizaruddin to serve three months in prison, and Tengku Abdul Aziz six months, should they fail to pay the fine, with the prison terms to begin today.
Tengku Nizaruddin was reported missing after his car allegedly plunged into Sungai Tui, off Jalan Bukit Kepong, Muar, on July 14.
He is a businessman and vehicle accessories shop owner.
Tengku Abdul Aziz had filed a report at the Lenga police station claiming that his brother had gone missing while heading to Muar to repair his car.
