A change from the managerial rollercoaster! Wayne Rooney enjoys a day out at Alton Towers with wife Coleen and his two youngest sons

Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen took a step back from their working lives to enjoy a day out at Alton Towers with their two youngest sons to celebrate half-time. The former Plymouth Argyle manager is currently without a coaching position, but remains a popular pundit, most recently working with Gary Lineker and Co for the BBC 's coverage of the FA Cup final. Rooney was a genial presence in the punditry line-up, taking a joke from Lineker about his coaching career in good humour during Crystal Palace 's victory against Manchester City. Micah Richards had asked Rooney what he thought Oliver Glasner might discuss at half-time with his Eagles side 1-0 up - only for the former Match of the Day host to crack: 'His teams were never 1-0 up!' Rooney was quick to switch attention back to the game, but will no doubt be mulling his future in the dug-out ahead of next season. However, before the start of preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, Rooney was able to let loose with his family at the popular theme park. Coleen shared pictures of the family day out to her Instagram with the caption: 'Alton Towers is always a great half-term trip! We had a fantastic time as always... thanks for looking after us (Alton Towers)'. But as well as one or two wholesome pictures of the couple with nine-year-old Kit and seven-year-old Cass, Coleen also included pictures of herself and Rooney enjoying the rides, smiling while clinging onto the rollercoasters for dear life. Rooney managed to crack a smile throughout - even if his grimace couldn't match his wife's beaming grin - perhaps finding the twists and turns of the rollercoasters at the amusement park child's play after a spin on the managerial merry-go-round last season. Rooney started the season as manager of the Championship side but by the mid-autumn was imperiled in a battle to avoid relegation. The former Manchester United great was eventually sacked on New Year's Eve and replaced by Miron Muslic. Coleen, by contrast, has enjoyed a career resurgence, winning hearts as a runner-up on last year's iteration of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! The influencer was also able to share her sense of 'relief' after Rebekah Vardy was ordered to pay her a £1.4million settlement following their years-long Wagatha Christie legal battle. Breaking her silence at the time, Coleen insisted that 'time and money should have been put to better use' in a scathing public message. She wrote: 'The ruling yesterday in my favour finally brings this claim to an end, it's a relief and brings closure for my family and I. 'Throughout this long process, I am grateful that the judgements have consistently gone my way. 'However, as I have always maintained this claim did not need to be made or run for as long as it did. 'The time and money should have been put to better use. 'I want to thank my legal representatives, management, friends and family for their guidance and constant support. 'Thanks also to the public and many well wishers who have been in touch with such kind messages. 'This episode is not something I ever wanted in my life however I am thankful for the way my family and team have dealt with it. We look forward to moving on with our lives.' Coleen must also pay Vardy a total of £135,097.50 in costs under the terms of court orders from 2024, which will be set off against what Rebekah must pay.

Gemma Collins shows off her two stone weight loss in pink cycling shorts

GEMMA Collins flashed her two-stone weight loss as she posed in a baby pink two-piece for a family day out. The ITVBe star donned an oversized top and matching cycling shorts, paired with a pair of bling Chanel sunglasses, for her time with fiance Rami Hawash. 6 6 Gemma, 44, styled her blonde hair into a loose straight style and opted for fresh make-up and brushed brows. The self-confessed diva, who has dropped from a size 26 to a 20 in three months, started using weight-loss injections three months ago and she has described them as "life changing". She recently showed off her weight loss at the Chelsea Flower Show and it seems her results continued on her shopping trip with her fiance. Fans had previously speculated the pair had said I Do - and her step-son Tristan joined the lovebirds for their retail therapy. They headed to swanky department store Selfridges for a spot of retail therapy before visiting the food section for chocolate dipped strawberries. Later on in her Instagram video, the reality TV star captured Tristan posing with their pal DJ Fat Tony in the pub. In her caption, TOWIE alum Gemma wrote: "Nothing beats a family day shopping OBVS!!! "So hard to get Rami in the shops but when I do I really enjoy it! Why do men dislike shopping so much … need to add it to their DNA!!! "For the best part @dj_fattony_ come to meet us and was the best fun as always nothing but LOVE and a little chill just before his big day. We love you Uncle Tony X" NEW LOOK Gemma has teamed up with weight-loss injection company Yazen in a paid partnership and has said she is delighted with the results so far. "It's so crazy though, guys, being on my injection right now it's just so unbelievable the way my appetite has changes literally!! Bizarre I want it all but can't it's FANTASTIC," she previously wrote on social media. "Life changing to the MAX to go from a size 26 into a 20 !!! IM ABSOLUTELY so THANKFUL to @yazenuk." GLP-1 injections such as Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro, have had a surge in popularity in the past 12 months. Having been used primarily as diabetes drugs, they are now prescribed to boost weight loss by suppressing your appetite. Gemma now hopes to be a size 16 by the summer in a final desperate attempt to have a baby, telling The Sun: "I think I'll give birth to twins next year!" SIDE EFFECT? Yet despite her overall happiness with her weight loss jabs she expressed concern they were impacting her face. She told fans she believed the treatment was to blame for the "lines" on her complexion and told how deep lines and wrinkles appearing out of nowhere. She wrote on social media: 'I really don't know what's happened to me, I really don't. "It's just come on me overnight. But it has been a year since I've had any little tweakments. 'I don't know if it's since I've been losing weight. I sure haven't got 'Ozempic face' yet, but it would be the dream right now. 'I've always had a fuller face, as you know. I do like expression around my eyes. I want to look natural still. But this just isn't right. What has happened? I am 44 but this is taking it to levels that I never, ever imagined it'd get to.' Loose skin and sagging are a known effects of using drugs like Mounjaro, Wegovy and Ozempic due to the change in the amount of fat stored in the face. At her heaviest, Gemma weighed over 23st and was a size 26. She told us that she couldn't even roll over in bed and was left unable to wear sexy lingerie. 6 6 6

Peter Phillips' daughters Savannah and Isla beam and take selfies with cousin Mia - as family takes to Badminton Horse Trials to support Zara Tindall

The Princess Royal's grandchildren enjoyed a family day out - as they gathered to show support for Zara Tindall at an equestrian trial this weekend. Peter Phillips ' daughters Savannah, 14, and Isla, 13, took selfies with their cousin Mia Tindall, 11 - who was on hand to cheer on her mother - as they took in the fifth and final day at the MARS Badminton Horse Trials on Sunday. Looking sporty and casual, Savannah opted for a slouchy quarter-zip with shorts, and wore her wavy hair down, while her sister Isla was trendy in a Von Dutch cap and grey top. Elsewhere, little Mia was adorable as ever in a chic white shirt and hat, teamed with a fun patterned skirt. The kids clearly enjoyed some girl time as they were spotted chatting up a storm in the stands. Their father Peter, 47 - who shares Savannah and Isla with his ex Autumn Kelly - looked after the royal cousins with his girlfriend Harriet Sperling, who looked summery and glam in a white and navy patterned dress. Meanwhile, Princess Anne's son looked ready for every weather in a pinstripe button-down, gilet and a cap - along with aviator shades. In one sweet father-daughter bonding moment, Isla could be seen huddling up to her dad for a cuddle. Peter Phillips ' daughters Savannah, 14, and Isla, 13, took selfies with their cousin Mia Tindall , 11 - who was on hand to cheer on her mother - as they took in the fifth and final day at the MARS Badminton Horse Trials on Sunday The family was out to support the King's niece Zara, 43, who looked to be in high spirits as she collected a revered accolade at the event. The mother-of-three beamed as she posed with other attendees in Gloucestershire. Radiating sporty casual, the daughter of Princess Anne dressed for the warmer weather in wide-leg jeans and a blue cropped jacket, adorned with golden buttons. She kept her blonde tresses out of her face with a ponytail, and looked excited to chat with others at event - even being snapped giggling at something. Keeping her look practical yet classy, the mother-of-three donned simple white trainers. For her make-up, Zara opted for a fresh-faced visage that accentuated her eyes, and kept accessories minimal. The Badminton Horse Trials are known to be 'one of the toughest and most exciting equestrian events – the pinnacle of the worldwide horse trials calendar'. For four days, competitors are tested on a myriad of disciplines, including dressage, a cross country course and show jumps. It was also a big day for Zara, who collected her first 'Armada Dish', which is usually awarded for five completions of the event. Oozing pride, the royal posed with her flat-shaped trophy. It comes as, just weeks ago, Zara and Mike Tindall appeared just as in love as ever as they were snapped gazing adoringly at one another while attending the final day of the Cheltenham Festival. Zara and her former rugby player husband, 46, appeared reluctant to take their eyes off of each other as they posed up a storm at the racecourse. Proving their fashion prowess, the loved-up pair even coordinated their ensembles, with Zara look glamorous in a turquoise V-neck coat and a matching statement headpiece. Taking style tips from his stylish wife, Mike wore a similar coloured tie with his smart grey suit and striped shirt. Looking effortlessly elegant, Zara teamed her vibrant coat with a navy turtleneck, as well as £435 high heeled Regina boots and the £345 Loxley Navy Croc Handbag, both from Fairfax & Favor. Adding a touch of glitz to her outfit, Princess Anne's daughter opted for a set of delicate pearl earrings, while keeping the sun from her eyes with a pair of sunglasses. The royal equestrian and former Olympian kept her makeup to a minimum, allowing her flawless complexion to shine through a sheer layer of foundation while opting for a swipe of pink lipstick. Mike and Zara, in her role as Cheltenham Racecourse Director, have attended everyday of the festival, joining Queen Camilla, the Princess Royal and Princess Eugenie on the various days. At today's event, Princess Anne also stepped out at the racecourse, alongside Andrew Parker Bowles, whom she briefly dated in the 1970s, at the races. Mr Parker Bowles is the ex-husband of Queen Camilla. The couple's outing came after Mike revealed his hilarious 'liver management' hack for 'surviving' four days of Cheltenham. The former rugby player shared some drinking wisdoms with - while attending day three of the prestigious event. He explained that while it's easy to get caught up in the excitement, there is one way to stealthily keep yourself above ground. 'It's not easy,' he admitted. 'All it takes is bumping into an old friend to push you over the limits. But with like, Guinness - you get a little Zero and no one knows! A little Guinness Zero in the middle when no one knows. It goes a long way.' A Guinness Zero is an alcohol-free alternative of the famous stout, and according to the brewers 'boasts the same beautifully smooth taste, perfectly balanced flavour, and unique dark colour of Guinness, just without the alcohol '. The father-of-three, who appeared dapper in a stylish suit, had attended all three days of Cheltenham prior to the interview, calling the event 'amazing'. 'It's always the atmosphere, the atmosphere's so relaxed,' he continued. 'Everyone's here for a good time and I can get on board with that.' Mike and Zara led the royal arrivals as they joined Princess Anne for the festivities. The trio stepped onto the concourse in thick wintery coats as they prepared to brave the temperamental British weather on what is traditionally celebrated as St Patrick's Thursday. King Charles 's niece sported a casual ensemble with a moss green long jacket with a waist cinching material belt. Beneath her stylish jacket, the 42-year-old wore a paisley navy shirt and complimented the autumnal green with a handful of statement black pieces. The royal equestrian sported a stylish pair of black leather gloves, which she paired with a fedora hat and gold chain bag in the same charcoal shade.
