TikTok influencer sues to keep records about her son's death private
TikTok influencer Emilie Kiser is suing Arizona officials to keep records about her 3-year-old son's death private. Earlier this month, Kiser's eldest son, Trigg, died several days after he was found unconscious in a backyard pool at the family's home in Chandler, about a 30-minute drive southeast of Phoenix, according to local reports. Kiser shares her life as a mom on TikTok where she has four million followers. On Tuesday, Kiser filed a lawsuit against Arizona officials, arguing the disclosure of records related to her son's death 'causes renewed trauma to surviving family members and violates their right to grieve privately.' Kiser 'is going through a parent's worst nightmare right now' after the 'heartbreaking accidental drowning' of her son earlier this month, according to the suit. The toddler died in hospital six days after he was found in the pool, KPNX reported. 'Emilie is trying her best to be there for her surviving son…but every day is a battle,' the lawsuit said. Kiser and husband, Brady, welcomed their second son, Theodore, in March. Since Trigg's death, more than 100 public records requests have been filed with the city of Chandler and the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office. "Emilie and her family desperately want to grieve in private, but sadly, the public will not let them. Trigg's death has become a media frenzy,' the suit read. While the suit does acknowledge Arizona's Public Records Law, which gives the public the right to view records maintained by public offices, 'this right of access is not absolute.' Kiser's lawyers argue Arizona law also, 'recognizes that family members have a compelling privacy interest in preventing the disclosure of graphic materials related to a loved one's injuries or death.' Kiser has not posted on TikTok since May 12. The suit names several Arizona public offices, including the city of Chandler, the Chandler Police Department, the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner and the Arizona Department of Health Services. Jason Berry, director of communications for Maricopa County, told NBC News on Thursday, 'When Maricopa County learned the family was pursuing a court order to prevent the release of these records, the Office of the Medical Examiner worked with the family to place a seal on the record.' Berry said court proceedings will determine if the records related to Trigg's death will be permanently sealed.

EXCLUSIVE Baby girl, one, suffers 'serious and life-changing injuries to her face' in dog attack in front of horrified mother and grandfather who were also injured
A young mother screamed in terror as her baby daughter was savaged by the family dog in front of her. The baby girl suffered 'serious and life-changing injuries to her face' when she was attacked by the out-of-control pet yesterday, police have revealed. The girl's grandfather, 53, and her 21-year-old mother were later seen covered in blood in the street following the horrifying incident. All three were taken to hospital where the adults' injuries were today described as serious but not life-threatening or life-changing. The dog was humanely destroyed after it was filmed being led into a waiting van by specialist handlers. The baby is understood to have been attacked inside the family's flat in Denton, Greater Manchester yesterday evening. One neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: 'I heard a woman's screams - it was horrible. 'There was a lot of banging and shouting. 'The woman kept on screaming and the man was shouting. It was terrifying. 'The police came later dragged the dog out.' Mother-of-three Emma Hill, 34, said: 'I saw the baby's granddad outside on the street 'He was covered in blood. 'Then I saw the young mum - she looked traumatised. 'I didn't even know they had a dog. 'It's terrifying.' Neighbour Alan Hughes, 29, said: 'There were police everyone and lots of blue lights. 'The told everyone to take their kids inside as they were going to shoot the dog. 'I think it's the grandfather's dog. 'I have seen the young girl put the baby in the car. 'She seems a very loving mum.' Today police said her family had been left 'understandably incredibly distressed' by the 'awful' incident as they appealed for witnesses. Armed police and paramedics descended on Baslow Road in Denton following reports of an out of control dog at about 5.50pm yesterday. Eyewitnesses claimed people were left 'covered in blood' following the incident. An air ambulance air lifted the baby girl to Manchester Royal Infirmary. Police have not arrested anyone over the attack. The flat was being guarded today by a lone policeman and the police cordon had been lifted. Detective Superintendent Gareth Jenkins of Greater Manchester Police said: 'This was an awful attack that has left a 1-year-old girl with serious and life-changing injuries. 'Her family are understandably incredibly distressed by what happened here last night. 'The family of the young girl are being supported by officers as she recovers in hospital. 'A scene remains in place on Baslow Road in Denton in the immediate aftermath so officers can make further enquiries to establish a full timeline of events that led to this incident, we thank the local community for their patience and cooperation at this time. 'We are now appealing for information, there were people in the area specifically on Baslow Road who may have dashcam, CCTV or mobile footage from yesterday afternoon that may be of assistance to our enquiries.' Last night one shocked local said: 'There's people covered in blood and a baby's been taken to hospital.' 'There were others who looked injured. A dog section and armed police went in with guns.' One local told the Manchester Evening News: 'It happened in the flats. 'There were lots of police and ambulances and an air ambulance.' Families gathered outside watching as emergency services worked within the cordon last night.

Two members of a family from Melbourne have been killed in a bus crash while in India, with another child left in a coma. Dass Santiago, his wife Sandra Edward and daughters Angela and Natasha embarked on a trip to India two weeks ago, before the tragic accident on May 21. Six people, including 45-year-old Dass, 5-year-old Natasha, Dass's brother and sister-in-law and other relatives, died from their injuries after their van crashed with a bus on a highway en route to Tamilnadu in southern India. Sandra is currently recovering in hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries Their eldest daughter Angela remains in a coma after undergoing two brain surgeries. The family from Clyde North in Melbourne were visiting Dass's ailing mother and also commemorating Dass's older brother, who had died in Sydney the year before. Friends of the family are appealing for help to bring back Sandra and Angela from the government hospital, where they say medical assistance is 'limited'. Philomena Peters, a family friend, told 7News the news was 'absolutely devastating and shattering'. Another family friend, Leon Vieyra said they were 'such a beautiful family'. 'A very generous family … they took a small pilgrim trip to Velankanni which is a very sacred place,' he said 'We need better medical facilities to cope with this magnitude that they're going through.' The GoFundMe has been created by Sandra, who said in the post description that her 'heart is ripped to shreds'. 'I saw my husband die in front of me. That image is burned into my mind, a cruel, relentless torment,' the fundraiser description reads. 'Barely surviving the crash myself with multiple fractures and life-threatening injuries, I clung to the hope that my children were safe. 'Then, the most devastating news imaginable: my youngest daughter, my sweet Tash, who was turning six next month, succumbed to her injuries. How can I ever comprehend that I will never hold my little angel again?'. Ms Edward says that she is appealing for public kindness and humanity amid the ordeal. 'I need help to bury my beloved Dass and my precious Tash,' the description continues. 'And most urgently, I need help to medically evacuate Angie and myself back to Australia. We desperately need the specialised medical care that can give us a chance at recovery and at rebuilding shattered lives. The fundraiser has currently raised $102,670 since being created last week. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade was contacted for a comment. 'The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to an Australian family in India,' the spokesperson said. 'We send our deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time. Owing to our privacy obligations we are unable to provide further comment.'
