Bai Lu wants a break from fantasy drama
16 Jun - Although she is praised for her performance in the latest fantasy drama, "Feud", Bai Lu recently admitted that she would like to step back from the xianxia (fantasy) genre for the time being. The actress recently spoke candidly in a media interview that she feels a lot of pressure and fatigue from starring in multiple fantasy dramas like "Moonlight Mystique", "Mo Li", to "Till the End of the Moon", and that she is worried that the audience will feel fatigued as well. "My last project was also a xianxia drama, so I was especially worried about it feeling repetitive," she said. The actress said that she does realise that the production team put great care into everything and that she is thankful for their hard work. However, after an extended period of filming, Bai Lu said that what she needs most right now is "a break to recharge." Meanwhile, the actress will also be seen next in "Unveil: Jadewind", adapted from the web novel "Tang Gong Qi An Zhi Xue Yu She", as well as "The Monkey King 3". (Photo Source: Bai Lu IG, SOHU)

Amazon Prime Video Cancels Fan-Favorite Series After 3 Seasons
It looks like another fan-favorite Amazon Prime Video series has come to an end. This time the streaming platform decided this show was concluded after airing 3 seasons on their streaming platform. It looks like it took Amazon Prime 'lengthy deliberations' to come to this decision. The economic environment just wasn't feasible enough to keep this series going, apparently, as 'the streamer's executives' are said to have liked the series 'creatively.' While the series initially performed well, it seems as though ratings began to slip during its third season, leading to this tough decision. Though because they knew the end was coming, it's been said that 'the Season 3 finale was designed to offer some closure.' While fans would have no doubt liked to have had more seasons to continue the story – it's nice that the series will offer some kind of conclusion. As shared via Deadline: 'Prime Video will not be renewing The Wheel of Time for a fourth season. The decision, which comes more than a month after the Season 3 finale was released April 17, followed lengthy deliberations.' It's certainly an unfortunate announcement as The Wheel of Time had plenty of potential to continue running on the platform. The series, based on the book series by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, is a fantasy drama that became Prime Video's most watched series premiere in 2021. It was also one of the Top 5 series launches of all time for Amazon Prime. As such, fans can continue to watch the existing three seasons of The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional streaming and television updates as we have them. It's certainly become a tough industry for high-concept shows like this to thrive, but at least fans got a worthwhile three seasons out of this particular property.

Netflix K-drama Heavenly Ever After midseason recap: jumbled with no real story
Lead cast: Kim Hye-ja, Son Suk-ku, Han Ji-min, Lee Jung-eun Advertisement Latest Nielsen rating: 6.89 per cent Those who have pondered what awaits us after we shuffle off this mortal coil probably should not look for answers in Heavenly Ever After, a fantasy drama that imagines the afterlife as a version of Korean society overrun with bureaucracy and pastel colours. There is an episode halfway through the series that brings us on a tour of hell and all its fire and brimstone, which is nothing like the world we live in. Yet for those who have been good during their mortal lives, the heaven that awaits them in this show must surely be a disappointment. The afterlife in Heavenly Ever After revolves around the Heaven Support Centre and its myriad rules and programmes. Not following these rules earns you a one-way ticket to hell. No matter how good you were to get into heaven, you need to be even better to stay there.
