Ottawa Fire Services lifts open-air fire ban for Ottawa
The Ottawa Fire Services has lifted the burn ban for the City of Ottawa, as the stretch of hot and humid conditions comes to an end.
An open-air fire ban was issued last Friday due to the dry conditions and temperatures warming up above 30 C.
On Wednesday, the burn ban was lifted.
'Remember, City of Ottawa residents must obtain an Open Air Fire Permit (Burn Permit) in order to have an open air fire,' the fire services said. 'All burn permits are issued and regulated under the Open Air Fire By-law No. 2004-163.'
A permit is required to have a fire on private property, including a backyard fire or using a large fire pit.
