It's Mother's Day this weekend and with temperatures nearly topping out at 20 C there will be many events to fill her cup on the special day. The conservatory will be organizing activities for the special day including planting activities, craft-making and live music in the main hall. The feature pyramid at the Muttart is named focuses on underwater life and plants found under the sea. Make sure to keep an eye out for overhead jellyfish and other surprises throughout the display. Tickets are available at the City of Edmonton website. When: Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Where: 9626 96A St. NW Admission: $14.95 for adults, $12.95 for seniors, $7.75 children aged two and 12, free under two years old Proms for Moms Give your mom a second prom by accompanying her to the Mill Creek Colliery Band playing at the Proms for Moms concert. The band pays homage to 19th century brass bands and will be marking the end of their 2024-25 season this weekend. Tickets are available at the Edmonton Arts Council website. Spice up the West has captured the choreography, English accents, platform shoes and the powerful voices the Spice Girls have delivered for nearly 10 years all over North America. Tickets for the concert are available on Ticketmaster. When: Friday at 9 p.m. Where: The Pearl Showroom, Pure Casino Yellowhead, 12464 153 St. Admission: $35.50 and up Little Women The 1868 coming-of-age novel is being brought to the stage at the Citadel Theatre until May 25. The play navigates the difficult transition from childhood to adulthood among four Massachusett sisters who are brought together by their family bond. Tickets are available on the Citadel Theatre website. The Stingers will duke it out on the court against their Alberta rivals, the Calgary Surge. Head over to Ticketmaster to purchase tickets to Sunday's game or any other game this season. (Courtesy: Stars on Ice) The Edmonton Oilers won't be the only skaters getting ice time at Rogers Place as the 2025 Stars on Ice tour will be making a stop at downtown arena on Sunday for a star-studded show. The show features the ice dancing talents of Keegan Messing, Satoko Miyahara, Jason Brown, Isabeau Levito and duo Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier. Kurt Browning, a four-time world champion Canadian figure-skater, three-time Olympian and a staple of Stars on Ice since 1991, returns as the director and choreographer for the tour. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster. When: Sunday at 4 p.m. Where: Rogers Place, 10220 104 Ave. NW Admission: $32 to $192 plus fees Reptiles Edmonton Reptile Expo Maybe not so motherly, but it's the thought that counts. The Edmonton Reptile Expo is headed to the Alberta Aviation Museum this weekend where guests can connect with experts and breeders from all over Canada as well as a healthy dose of lizards, amphibians, arachnids and invertebrates including isopods and scorpions. Food trucks, vendors, face-painting and a Mother's Day giveaway will be available at the event. Outside animals will not be permitted at the expo. Tickets can be purchased online. When: Saturday to Sunday starting at 10 a.m. Where: Alberta Aviation Museum, 11410 Kingsway Ave. NW Admission: $10 per person, $25 for family pack (includes admission for two adults and two children aged five and under)
