He's bringing Afro-Caribbean flair to the lounges with his Suya Short Ribs and Tamarind Ice Box Cake. I took £20 to TRNSMT 2025 and got less than I hoped for
Thousands of revellers have embarked on Glasgow Green today as day one of TRNSMT 2025 has begun. Last year, we took £20 out into the festival to see what we could buy to eat and drink for the singular note - so this year we thought we'd try it again. We know most festival goers this weekend will come with a budget in mind for food and drinks, and unfortunately, as with most things in recent times, it's going to cost you more than you think. From noodles and Indian cuisine to Greek food, there were dozens of food trucks and bars to pick from again this year - here's what we managed to get. (Image: Newsquest) READ MORE: LIVE Saturday at Glasgow TRNSMT 2025 - lucky fans meet HUGE pop star Last year, my colleague Morgan managed to get a burger, chips, a pint and a bottle of water for £20 - so I had high hopes for my lunch. However, as I wandered around the food stall, I soon started to realise that the same budget wouldn't get me anywhere near the same amount. In 2024, Morgan got the Ultimate Smash Burger Meal, which cost £12. This year, though, the burger alone will cost you that. Realising my score note was scrimping, I decided I'd have to get thrifty, as Morgan's 2024 lunch would cost me almost £25 this year. After several laps of the main food courts, I settled on buying some salt and chilli chicken and the cheapest pint going - which you can find out where to get HERE. (Image: Newsquest) READ MORE: Recap of everything from Friday of TRNSMT 2025 - from 50 Cent to fashion advice The salt and chilli chicken with noodles and sauce cost me £11.70 and my pint of Carlsberg Pilsner set me back £6.75. I thought I might manage to grab a bottle of water to help stay hydrated during what is thought to be the warmest TRNSMT ever. But to my dismay, a bottle of H2O would cost me another £2.60 on top - which would've taken me over budget. Thankfully, there are free water points throughout the festival site. Spending £18.45 and walking away with change from my challenge wasn't something I expected; however, I did feel disappointed with the expensive food and drink options. I took £20 to Glasgow TRNSMT 2025 and this is what I got (Image: Newsquest) READ MORE: Lucky TRNSMT 2025 fans grab photos with huge pop star at Glasgow Green With a young crowd drawn to the festival each year, I really wonder how much spending money a 16-year-old has for a day out at TRNSMT and worry that they don't get to enjoy a festival in the way I did at their age. Perhaps it's a sign of the cost-of-living times, but should eating and drinking at a festival be at the price it could be considered a luxury? My food did the trick for lunch, and my pint was ice cold - but I was left red in the face at the fact that £20 really doesn't get you far this year.

More than quarter of women have been shown porn at work
More than a quarter of women have been shown pornography at work, according to Unite the Union. A poll of 300,000 women by the trade union found 28pc had been shown pornographic material by a manager, colleague or customer. One in four women have suffered work-related sexual assault, with 43pc saying they have been inappropriately touched at work. Very few incidents are reported, with respondents concerned they wouldn't be believed or that their job would be put at risk. Some of those who had told their bosses what had happened said they had been accused of lying, with some perpetrators even promoted. One anonymous respondent who worked in construction said she was sacked after reporting that she was sexually harassed by her manager for several months. She said: 'It devastated me and drove me away from working in the construction industry for many years.' Another respondent who works in the food and drinks sector said she reported 'disgusting behaviour and sexual comments from contractors, which I had put up with for over two years and nothing was ever done about it'. 'Damning' Unite, which surveyed women in 19 different sectors, said that construction, aviation, transport, food and drink, farming, trucking, warehousing and logistics all suffered from significant rates of harassment. Sharon Graham, Unite's chief, said: 'The results of our survey are damming and show women workers are being failed by bosses. Nobody should suffer sexual harassment in the workplace. 'Every worker deserves a safe working environment and should feel able to report harassment.' Since October, employers have been legally obliged to take measures to prevent sexual harassment from happening at work or and at work events. However, Unite's survey found that 34pc of women did not believe there was a zero-tolerance approach to this behaviour at work. Ahead of the new rules coming into force last year, many companies sent staff on sexual harassment training courses. One training presentation, seen by The Telegraph late last year, told staff that 'grabbing, groping, kissing, fondling or brushing against another's body' as well as 'sitting or gesturing sexually' were examples of unwanted sexual behaviour. 'Do not sexually harass a colleague,' the training document stated. It added that 'repeated requests for dates' and 'suggestive looks, staring or leering' were not acceptable. Parliament's Treasury committee last year raised concerns that women working in finance were afraid to speak out about abuses in the workplace because of perceptions that the City is still a 'man's world'.
