The body of Halimatun Yusoff was found in the living room of her residence after firefighters forced open a locked door. PETALING JAYA : The decomposing body of an elderly woman was found at her residence in Flat Sri Guchil, Kuala Krai, Kelantan, this afternoon. Kuala Krai fire and rescue station operations commander Khairul Duha Abdul Halim said the body of Halimatun Yusoff, 69, who lived alone, was found at 2.08pm in the living room after firefighters forced open a locked door. 'We received a distress call at 2.04pm from police seeking assistance to open the door to the unit following a complaint of a foul smell. 'After the door was opened, our team found the decomposing body of an elderly woman who had died in the living room,' Bernama reported him as saying today.

Rare notoriously stinky flower begins blooming in California
A rare flower that is known for its distinctive foul smell has begun blooming in California. Footage shows the corpse flower, also known as the Titan Arum, in bloom at the Gardens Golden Gate Park on Tuesday (8 July). The flower omits the pungent odor that is comparable to rotten flesh when it is in full bloom, which only lasts for two days and only happens once every three to five years. The endangered corpse flowers are native to Sumatra, Indonesia and can grow up to 10ft tall.
