What did Eagles rookie learn during his meeting of the ‘freaks'? It could make him a superstar.

PHILADELPHIA — Eagles rookie linebacker Jihaad Campbell believes he can make an impact this season and be a game-wrecker for the rest of his career. Campbell's confidence has been on display during practices, running full speed at offensive linemen and running backs. He's never hesitant or timid. To the point where his aggressiveness had to be reined in. It was also on display when he spoke about the conversation that he had with Browns superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett. The two met after Wednesday's practice. 'Really just two freaks talking to each other,' Campbell said Thursday. 'He's a great guy ... Just talking about habits, finding a routine, especially me, coming in as a rookie and honing in who I am as a person. Being who I am, always staying that way, and just working hard.' Garrett destroyed the Eagles' offense in both joint practices this week. What made it even more impressive is who he beat: Eagles All-Pro left tackle Jordan Mailata. Mailata told reporters he will 'get a giggle out of' watching his film against Garrett. There are only a few unstoppable players in the NFL — Garrett is one of them. An offensive tackle can do everything right and still lose to him. Campbell is unlikely to have the same effect. Only a few players in NFL history have been more dominant than Garrett. He could be one of the greats. But a few of the tips Garrett shared could help Campbell have success. Campbell has the physical tools to become an All-Pro linebacker. Once he develops as a pass rusher, maybe he could become one of the league's most dangerous weapons. Those are the two reasons Eagles general manager Howie Roseman drafted him in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He envisions Campbell becoming a star. Campbell has that same belief. Looking up to Garrett is not a bad place to start. Thank you for relying on us to provide the journalism you can trust. Please consider supporting us with a subscription.
