Shrewsbury bus service changes during gas main works
There will be changes to two bus services in Shrewsbury while gas main replacement work takes allow for Cadent Gas operations on Longden Road and Roman Road, there will be a one-way closure of Longden Road from 21 July to 4 August on the east section of the road and 21 July to 15 August on the west east closure will impact the Arriva-operated 26 service from Meole Village to Shrewsbury Bus Lakeside Coaches-operated Radbrook to Shrewsbury Bus Station service will be impacted by the west closure. East closure The 26 service will operate following the usual route from the bus station to Meole Village, but will follow a temporary diversion route from Meole Village to the bus the end of Upper Road, the service will turn right on to Roman Road continuing to the traffic lights. The bus will then turn left on to Hereford Road, before turning left on to South Hermitage. At the end of South Hermitage, the service will then turn right on to Longden Road, continuing the usual route into stops at Priory Playing Fields, Cemetery, Central Drive Junction and South Hermitage Junction will be unavailable during this period for passengers travelling into Shrewsbury. West closure During the one-way closure of Longden Road west, the Radbrook to Shrewsbury Bus Station service will run as normal from the bus station to Henlow Rise bus stop. A temporary diversion will be in place where the service then turns left into Grange Road, travelling to the junction at the bottom with Roman Road. The service will then turn, wait for the usual departure time, before returning to the bus station along the normal line of stops at Bank Drive West and stops along Longden Road will be unavailable for passengers during this period. Section of Riverside Drive East to close until October
The City of Windsor is letting the public know about a four-month road closure on Riverside Drive East. Riverside Drive East, between Pillette Road and Jefferson Boulevard, will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays for gas main construction beginning Wednesday, June 18, until Friday, October 31, 2025. Local traffic only will be permitted. Enbridge Gas and Aecon will be doing the work for the natural gas pipeline replacement project. Enbridge said individual connections to the main pipeline (service lines) will be replaced from the new pipeline to the edge of homeowners' property lines. Indoor meters (if applicable) will be relocated outside. Home and businesses are not expected to be without natural gas for any length of time.

Chard roadworks to continue until September after overrun
A Somerset community is facing further disruption after a series of roadworks were extended until September.A stretch of the A358 Furnham Road in Chard has been closed since January but was meant to be complete at the start of this month. Work is under way on the town's gas pipes and sewers but other issues have been uncovered during the first phase of work, causing delays to the the junction of Furnham Road and Glynswood, at one end of the main closure will close from Tuesday ahead of the next phase of sewer works. Wales & West Utilities have been carrying out a £415,000 upgrade of the gas main, switching from the current metal pipes to long-lasting plastic Wessex Water is also working on £1.3m of improvements to the local sewage network in a bid to reduce the flood risk to nearby properties and work began in January with drivers complaining about "long delays" on nearby diversion routes.A spokesperson said "good progress" was being made by engineering teams working on the water main renovation along with work on the new the presence of other utilities, not revealed during the previous surveys of the area, obstructed a short section along the route of the new a result the section of Furnham Road, which was due to have reopened at the end of May, will now remain shut until 1 September.

Oswego Fire Protection District officials said, around 10:30 a.m., firefighters responded to a construction equipment accident at Wolf Road and Fifth Street. Construction workers had ruptured a gas main, igniting a fire that set two pieces of construction equipment on fire. The broken main continued burning until around 6:30 p.m. when the gas main was shut off and the fire was put out. Police said the street would remain closed until at least 11 p.m. as repairs are made to the broken main.
