If anyone has ever wondered why the cat burglar is referred to as the cat burglar, they may want to check out this video. As it shows, our feline companions are very crafty and can be rather unscrupulous when it comes to snagging a nice, tasty snack for themselves.
This adorable little orange cat clearly has one thing on his mind as he attempts his snack robbery. However, it's his precious reaction to getting caught that is stealing our hearts.
Ever the sly thief, this mischievous orange cat makes his way into the snack pantry. At first, he manages to get a lone paw into the pantry and begins feeling his way around to see if anything worth taking is within his reach.
After a moment, he decides to poke his head in there to get a better look at things. That's when he spots a bag of tasty treats ready for the begins pawing at the package, pulling his prize towards him, and that's when he suddenly realizes that his little food robbery is being caught on camera.
Unsurprisingly, this gives this little orange cat a good pause. He proceeded to take a long, hard look into the camera, perhaps reconsidering whether his little robbery attempt was even worth it anymore.
But after a moment, he decided that it most definitely was, and proceeded to make off with his snack bag in tow! So much for this orange cat's conscience getting the better of him, LOL.
The orange cat's behavior in that video is nothing new to many cat parents. A lot of them undoubtedly have stories of their beloved feline companions stealing all kinds of objects from them.
But why do cats do this? There can be several possible reasons for this. It could be because cats are naturally hunters and thus have predatory instincts.
So, pawing at something small and then running away with that thing in their mouth can be seen as sharpening vital hunting skills.
It could also just be that they are looking for attention or are in a playful mood. Some animals, cats included, also like to hoard things, which could be links to their instincts to gather food and bring it closer to home.
Whatever reasons the orange cat in this video had for stealing that snack bag, all we know is that no other cat burglar ever looked at this adorable will being caught red-handed.
