It's hard to get much cuter than dogs and babies, but kids and cows are ready to give them a run for their money. Cows don't always get to see tiny humans like @hanginghorses' toddler daughter, but when they do, they can't help but feel curious!
An adorable August 9 TikTok video revealed what happens 'when you leave Dad in charge of the toddler' while living on a ranch. The mom who posted the video may have been nervous to see her little girl near such massive cattle, but the heifers couldn't have been more fascinated by their pint-sized visitor.
How sweet! This adorable little girl has no idea how popular she is, but the cows only have eyes for her. Some happy cows look like they want to run and play with her, while others are already in fierce protection mode.
"It always cracks me up how much babies fascinate cattle," one commenter agreed. Isn't it hilarious? It's like they're seeing a new breeds of animals for the very first perhaps they know a baby is a 'human calf,' and their motherly instincts are kicking in! After all, this is a herd of heifers, or female cows. Heifers will often watch each other's calves in a form of communal babysitting, and these gals are ready for the job.

To most, including this adorable family, introducing the baby to the cows serves a social purpose. This helps them both become more comfortable with one another, so by the time a child is old enough to run, climb, and explore, neither they nor the cows will be startled.
As one commenter explained, though, introducing the baby and the cows can be a cultural tradition, too! "In South Africa, they said, "this is how we confirm DNA. She's 100% yours." That's a big relief!
"Traditionally," another viewer replied. "This is how paternity was proven: The cattle of the homestead would follow the child. If not, we need to talk."
Luckily, these cows have confirmed that this little girl is her father's daughter, and there's no doubt he'll bring her back for a visit very soon.
