DMG Blockchain Solutions Announces Preliminary July Operational Results, Treasury Update, Launch of Blockseer Explorer
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Aug. 06, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DMG Blockchain Solutions Inc. (TSX-V: DMGI) (OTCQB: DMGGF) (FRANKFURT: 6AX) ("DMG" or the "Company"), a vertically integrated blockchain and data center technology company, today announces its preliminary operational results for July 2025: During July 2025, DMG's realized hashrate was 1.65 EH/s, up 6% from the 1.56 EH/s reported in June, as the Company was able to make fully operational its hydro infrastructure with 0.4 EH/s hashrate, achieved in the latter part of July. As a result of diligent efforts by its mining staff, the Company was able to overcome the infrastructure contamination issues caused by manufacturer quality control issues. DMG is now observing intraday hashrate fluctuations of less than 1% in its hydro mining segment, even during the warmest part of the summer. The hydro miners are designed to maintain hashrate under higher ambient temperatures, albeit at reduced efficiency, and are performing as expected. Notably, the initial failure rate of the hydro miners has been significantly lower than that of previous generations of air-cooled equipment. The Company has scheduled substation maintenance in August, which is expected to result in three days of downtime, with the possibility of partial shutdowns around that period. DMG does not currently utilize backup power generation for its Bitcoin mining operations, except for its server room. DMG's bitcoin balance was 307 BTC at the end of July. The Company sold bitcoin during the month to fund operating expenses and further reduce its loan balance with Sygnum Bank, in line with prior guidance. Digital Asset Treasury Update As of the date of this press release, DMG has paid down more than half of its Sygnum Bank loan balance, which was $20.0 million as of its most recently reported financial quarter ending March 31, 2025. In the near-term, DMG anticipates it will increase its bitcoin balance and limit further reductions in its debt. As a bitcoin miner, DMG's cash cost of energy to make bitcoin is well below the market price, which makes its cost of growing its bitcoin balance attractive. The Company continues to explore the development of a broader digital asset portfolio. DMG Launches Blockseer Explorer DMG announces it has relaunched Blockseer Explorer, which is part of DMG Blockchain's digital asset software suite and is a product tailored to a specific and underserved segment of the market: Bitcoin-native operators such as miners and self-custody treasuries. Explorer helps users track wallet activity, set alerts and export concise, spreadsheet-ready transaction data—with no coding, API setup or SQL required. By providing a bitcoin-only, GUI-first and export-friendly solution for wallet monitoring, Blockseer Explorer offers immediate benefit to a wide range of operators who want visibility, not complexity. Blockseer Explorer is available at no cost at About DMG Blockchain Solutions Inc. DMG is a publicly traded and vertically integrated blockchain and data center technology company that manages, operates and develops end-to-end digital solutions to monetize the digital asset and artificial intelligence compute ecosystems. Systemic Trust Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of DMG, is an integral component of DMG's carbon-neutral Bitcoin ecosystem, which enables financial institutions to move Bitcoin in a sustainable and regulatory-compliant manner. MARA's July Bitcoin production slips 1% as energized hashrate rises
MARA produced 703 BTC in July 2025, down 1% month-over-month, mining 207 blocks (–2%) even as energized hashrate climbed 3% to 58.9 EH/s, according to MARA's monthly mining update. CEO Fred Thiel attributed the dip in blocks won to a 9% jump in mining difficulty as global hashrate rebounded from seasonal curtailment. He highlighted that energized hashrate grew by 3% and that MARA's bitcoin treasury surpassed 50,000 BTC, ending the month with 50,639 BTC on its balance sheet. Thiel noted that while Ohio sites Wolf Hollow and Kearney experienced higher than expected curtailment, operational efficiency improved through boosted productivity and streamlined supply-chain processes. He also confirmed plans to energize the data center at the company's Texas wind farm in the second half of the year. With over $5 billion in liquid assets and nearly $1 billion raised since June 30, MARA has the flexibility to fund continued domestic growth and pursue international expansion. Thiel emphasized the firm's disciplined asset-management strategy, treating bitcoin as a productive, risk-managed asset rather than a passive treasury time of publication, MARA is up 1.6% during pre-market hours. RETRANSMISSION: HIVE Digital Technologies Surpasses 14 EH/s Milestone as Global Expansion Accelerates Toward 25 EH/s
This news release constitutes a "designated news release for the purposes of the Company's amended and restated prospectus supplement dated May 14, 2025, to its short form base shelf prospectus dated September 11, 2024. San Antonio, Texas--(Newsfile Corp. - July 30, 2025) - HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd. (TSXV: HIVE) (NASDAQ: HIVE) (FSE: YO0) (the "Company" or "HIVE"), a diversified multinational digital infrastructure company, is proud to announce that it has surpassed 14 Exahash per second ("EH/s") of Bitcoin mining hashrate across its operations in Canada, Sweden, and Paraguay, and in the process has realized a current Bitcoin annual run rate ("ARR*") revenue of $315 million, with mining margins* of approximately 55% after electricity costs, based on the current hashprice per the Bitcoin Hashprice Index ( HIVE remains firmly on track to reach 18 EH/s by the end of summer and 25 EH/s by U.S. Thanksgiving, positioning the Company as one of the world's most efficient and fastest-scaling Bitcoin miners. This milestone marks a pivotal inflection point in HIVE's global growth trajectory as the Company leverages favorable market conditions, including rising Bitcoin prices, increasing institutional adoption of digital assets, and growing demand for AI-ready data centers. Paraguay-Fueled Growth: Over 7 Bitcoin Mined Daily, 300 Construction Workers and Engineers On-Site HIVE's three-campus buildout in Paraguay continues with focus. Phase 2 at the Yguazú site is now over 60% complete, with 4 EH/s of next-generation Bitmain S21+ Hydro miners already energized - increasing our daily Bitcoin global production to over 7 BTC, up from 4 BTC earlier this year. With full deployment of Phase 2 expected to deliver 6.5 EH/s, and ongoing development at the Valenzuela site (Phase 3), HIVE forecasts daily production to reach 12 Bitcoin per day by year-end - or nearly 3% of the global daily Bitcoin output (based on current Bitcoin Network Difficulty). "We have over 300 locally hired workers, all moving in lockstep to deliver world-class digital infrastructure at an extraordinary pace," said Frank Holmes, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman. "This is a project built on speed, precision, and purpose - think Navy SEALs meets Stargate in West Texas." Further, "The team is working 24/7 with enthusiasm and pride - not only to scale our electrical infrastructure, but to transform and uplift surrounding communities," added Gabriel Lamas, Country President of HIVE Paraguay. "This project is about national progress, innovation, and sustainable leadership in the digital economy." Global Adoption Tailwinds: U.S. Genius Act and Stablecoin Boom HIVE's strategy aligns with powerful macro trends: the global acceleration of stablecoin usage, Bitcoin's growing role in emerging market finance, and regulatory clarity in the U.S. The recent passage of the U.S. Genius Act in Washington has further legitimized Bitcoin and stablecoins as core financial infrastructure. This development mirrors HIVE's own belief in decentralized, energy-efficient digital systems as the foundation for the future of finance. Revenue Run Rate Surges to $300 Million and Climbing Bitcoin Prices to All Time High Following its fiscal year-end on March 31, 2025, in which the Company reported $105 million in Bitcoin revenue, HIVE's annualized Bitcoin mining ARR* with with mining margins* of approximately 55% after electricity costs, based on the current hashprice per the Bitcoin Hashprice Index ( has now more than tripled to $315 million as HIVE's hashrate and network rewards rise. "We're mining over 7 Bitcoin a day - clean, green, and fully funded by our operations," said Aydin Kilic, President & CEO. "Our growth is powered by cash flow and HODL - no dilution, no shortcuts. We're focused on scaling with discipline." Execution Excellence: 18.5 J/TH Efficiency Target Upon completing Phase 2, HIVE expects its global fleet efficiency to improve to approximately 18.5 joules per terahash ("J/TH") thanks to the integration of energy-efficient ASICs and advanced cooling infrastructure. "Our team in Paraguay is functioning at an exceptionally high level," said Luke Rossy, Chief Operating Officer. "We're racking miners and energizing containers in record time. HIVE continues to perform strongly in both ROIC and infrastructure cost-efficiency." * As used herein, "Mining Margin" is calculated by dividing the mining profit (revenue generated from mining activities minus power costs related to those activities) by the total revenue generated from mining activities and expressed as a percentage. In mining, the most significant expense is power costs. "ARR", as a metric, represents revenue only, and does not represent profitability. ARR is presented here as a measure of growth. These non-GAAP measures should be read in conjunction with and should not be viewed as alternatives to or replacements for measures of operating results and liquidity presented in accordance with GAAP in HIVE's quarterly and annual financial statements. What's New With Cipher Mining Stock?
CANADA - 2025/04/22: In this photo illustration, the Cipher Mining logo is seen displayed on a ... More smartphone screen. (Photo Illustration by Thomas Fuller/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images) Cipher Mining (NASDAQ:CIFR), a company engaged in Bitcoin mining that specializes in building and managing large-scale data centers for Bitcoin mining and high-performance computing hosting, witnessed an increase of nearly 16% during trading on Wednesday. This surge follows the company's announcement of significant advancements at its new mining site, referred to as Black Pearl. The hash rate at this location, which indicates the speed at which computers can handle Bitcoin transactions, far exceeded the company's predictions, with expectations for further growth in Q3. This is important since a higher hash rate enhances Cipher's capability to extract more Bitcoin and can also improve overall operational efficiency and profit margins. Furthermore, Cipher reported that it mined 160 bitcoins in June, sold 58 bitcoins, and currently holds 1,063 bitcoins. In spite of the recent developments, Cipher stock appears less appealing when considering its operational performance over recent years as well as its current and past financial status. Nevertheless, for those looking for potential gains with less volatility than individual stocks, the Trefis High Quality portfolio offers an alternative, having surpassed the S&P 500 and achieved returns exceeding 91% since its inception. Cipher Mining has reported mixed outcomes, although it should be noted that mining companies, especially in the crypto sector, typically display volatile financial results that do not always conform to conventional valuation standards. Revenue has remained relatively stagnant, decreasing slightly from $153 million to $152 million over the past year. In contrast, profitability has been significantly negative. The company recorded an operating loss of $129 million over the last four quarters, resulting in an operating margin of -84.5%, while net losses amounted to $124 million, equating to a net margin of -81.2%. Despite these unfavorable margins, the stock is trading at a price-to-sales ratio of 11.6, notably higher than the S&P 500's 3.1. CIFR stock has performed far worse than the benchmark S&P 500 index during several recent declines. Although investors hope for a soft landing for the U.S. economy, how severe could the situation become if another recession occurs? Our dashboard How Low Can Stocks Go During A Market Crash illustrates how key stocks performed during and after the last six market crashes. In the inflation shock of 2022, CIFR stock plummeted 97.2% from a peak of $14.52 on 16 September 2021 to $0.41 on 28 December 2022, compared to a peak-to-trough drop of 25.4% for the S&P 500. The stock has yet to bounce back to its pre-crisis high. While it would be wise to steer clear of CIFR stock for the time being, you might consider the Trefis Reinforced Value (RV) Portfolio, which has outperformed its benchmark for all-cap stocks (a combination of the S&P 500, S&P mid-cap, and Russell 2000 benchmark indices) delivering strong returns for investors. Why is that? The quarterly rebalanced mix of large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap RV Portfolio stocks has offered a proactive strategy to capitalize on positive market conditions while minimizing losses when markets decline, as elaborated in RV Portfolio performance metrics

Bitcoin Miner IREN Hits 50 EH/s Midyear Hashrate Target, Eyes AI Expansion
Australian bitcoin (BTC) miner IREN (IREN) said it reached its midyear hashrate target of 50 exahashes per second (EH/s) installed self-mining capacity. The growth from 31 EH/s at the end of last year is anchored by IREN's 750MW site in Childress, Texas, the company formerly known as formerly Iris Energy, said in an announcement on Tuesday. Sydney-based IREN's attention is now on Horizon 1, a 50MW AI data center at Childress, which it says it set for delivery in the fourth quarter. Hashrate is a measurement of the computing power behind the Bitcoin network. The higher a company's hashrate, the higher its chances of mining new BTC and receiving the rewards that come with it. Rival CleanSpark (CLSK) also reached the milestone of 50 EH/s last month. "With 50 EH/s of mining expansion complete, we're now turning to our next frontier, leveraging the same execution discipline to scale AI infrastructure across high-growth compute markets," co-founder Daniel Roberts said in the statement. IREN's Nasdaq-listed shares closed over 4% higher at $14.57 on Monday. They were recently 4.12% lower in pre-market trading. Sign in to access your portfolio
