You can own a piece of a Gilded Age mansion for $800,000
Julian Fellowes' TV series The Gilded Age tells the story of America's decadent old-money high society during the industrial boom of the 1880s.
Those of us who aren't millionaires can now buy a taste of that luxury. Several of the grand homes that provided the backdrop of the hit show have been divided into apartments and put on sale for as little as $815,000 (£600,000).
Fellowes, who also created Downton Abbey, used real mansions from the era on Rhode Island's scenic Newport coast as filming locations for The Gilded Age, including…
…Marble House, The Elms and Hunter House.
One of the properties listed for sale on an $875,000 condominium built in 1900, is on Bellevue Avenue opposite The Elms, which debuts as the Russells' home in the second series of The Gilded Age.
